There is evidence so to make the punishment lighter, he pleaded guilty however, thats not EFCC mandate to chase sprayers of money.Their mandate is financial crimes where the person(s) involved benefits
anonimi:

Why did Bobrisky plead guilty if EFCC is stupid?
Any idea

The debate was started by an Igbo as usual and I don't think that it's Igbo they are debating as a topic but culture.

Culture is dynamic. What you are doing today in your culture may soon be phased out tomorrow but history will record it that it once took place. The killing of twins in Calabar was recorded in history, isn't it? Same way trading in slaves among the Yoruba too was recorded.

Spraying money is a recent phenomenon. Some of us have elders who partied hard in the early years of Nigeria as a nation.

When I get time, I will prove that it only became a 'cultural practice' when it gained currency (pun intended) in the 1970s.

Spraying of money 💰 is not a recent thing. It is cultural. It has been in existence for long. Even our traditional musicians get sprayed when they sing. We don't joke with especially during traditional ceremonies like marriage.

There was no reason to drag Igbo nudity into that explanation. Its meant to denigrate the Igbos and you know it

Because it is culture doesn't mean it can't be wrong sad

We once had a culture where Twins were killed
...until Mary Slessor came onboard.

Mary Slessor was not the one who stopped the killing of twins in Calabar but a Calabar did.
This claim is just one of many historical lies the British painted to glorify themselves just like when they said Mungo Park discovered River Niger...

Gatwick Airport is not owned by any Nigerian man. The airport used to be owned by Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), of which a Nigerian man happened to be the chairman.

Since 2019, VINCI Airports has been the majority shareholder, and GIP owns the rest.

Same way Allen Onyeama does not own Air Peace.

cool

Gifts were given during the early years, Rasta.
I know this, you know this, my dog in the shed knows it too.

No one was spraying Guinea coins or the old notes, in Nigeria, before independence.
What is more, many of the jokers calling others 'villagers' were themselves still a distant consideration (for conception) in the villages which passed for their parents homestead. cool

Spraying money is largely a by-product of the oil boom years. To argue to the contrary is to indulge in historical revisonism. cool

Smh. This is not a healthy way for you to learn and acquire knowledge.

Here's a report on Yoruba weddings in Lagos as far back as over a century ago: Lagos High Society Weddings Of The 1920s

https://www.nairaland.com/7791204/lagos-high-society-weddings-1920s

This was a time some people in present day South East, according to authoritative books written by foreigners and some of our Nationalists of Igbo extraction, were still walking unclad and not exposed to having societal parties where Yoruba spray money.

You can get a copy of this book and read. We appreciate our history when we learn about how our forebears lived.

Reno is right, spraying of money at social and private events is part of Yorubaland culture till date. Others learnt it from the Yoruba and it's not a bad thing in my opinion because it is a way to appreciate the celebrant but it's now to be done in a manner that you don't mishandle the naira. Even the EFCC lawyer who prosecuted Bobrisky, a Yoruba, and the Judge who convicted him are Yoruba!

Show us what happens at Ogbomosho in 1920.
Stupid idi.ot.
When did Lagos become a beacon of Yoruba tradition or culture ?

Someone asks a simple question and you're insulting an entire tribe.
Scalawag!

You see how you igbos poject ur practice on others? I stumbled on this on google. Apart from Calabars, you IGBOS KILLED TWINS!!! Chinua Achebe even wrote about it. Thank God for colonialists in your life.

Yorubas were a proper civilization before u guys. You were both cannibalistic and killing children. No be small curse.

.

Im yoruba, both cultures like almost every culture in the world is marred with so much impunities.... The colorful display of cultures is only on the surface, deep inside almost all are filled with evil, culture, religion, race, tribal affiliation or group only bring people together on the surface, when you zoom out at the bigger picture, these factors ultimately seperate us....

Reno is a deep thinker a sensational a table shakers, what he said is a fact, it's part of a YORUBA CULTURE to spray money in the public, we can trace it down to the begining of our existence as a Yoruba people

Bobrisky case must be treated with human face, it's not so very easy to change something that has become part and parcel of a person by hereditary. No wonder he said (he Bobrisky) that he has no knowledge of the law, admitted that he wouldn't get himself involved in such an act again.
