Abeg, those in the know should use this opportunity to mention businesses that do this, irrespective of where such businesses are in Nigeria...

This is just common sense...!

If not economic sabotage, why on Earth would anyone use a foreign currency to transact business in his own country?!!

I have never heard of such in developed nations.

Why can't we be patriotic and sensible in this country and continent?!!

In every government's policy, there's always a waiver

Wonderful... Waiver indeed. If everyone is not subjected by the law, there should be no law in the first place.

This is a double standard character. You kill some people's business and prosper another people's own.

If this is one of the measures to revive naira in the forex, it's a welcome development.

Politicians from APC bribed delegates in dollar during their convention. Politicians steal billions in naira and convert to dollar. EFCC knows where to look and the common man is not the cause of this problem. Let them fish out and arrest the politicians

If you see any private schools asking for fees in dollars report them to EFCC. It’s time for everybody to be proactive. Take back your country. The late nwigwe his university wanted to start charging in dollars 💸

Yes, we all know this... You can't expect them to publicly acknowledge this na. grin

The best they can do is have a word with themselves and make economic compromises.

Na common Nigerians dem fit use score political points.

Most important and the biggest deal breaker will be to stop banks and financial institutions from paying interests on all FX related deposits.

Once that is done, you’ll see all the dollar crash overnight.

House Rent ko ... Anyway as long as transactions are not within Nigeria e no concern Efcc... What is important is for the Naira to be stable and appreciating

There is no known law against transacting in whatever currency. It's like saying villagers must use Naira instead of 'Trade by barter'.

It is all about what the two parties think is valuable for both of them.

If I am a Professor and I prefer to teach people from all over the world (Nigerians inclusive) online in my private capacity, I have the right to collect my money in dollars in my local dorm account and everyone including Nigerians should pay into my dollar account.

Why should the EFCC have a problem with that?

Good one.

But when will the EFCC make available the forensic analysis report on the dollar video involving Ganduje? We understand that when this event happened, Ganduje was still the governor of Kano State and was covered by immunity. Ganduje is no longer the governor of Kano State. He is now the national chairman of the APC.
So what is holding the forensic analysis report from being made public?
Is the APC national chairman covered by immunity, or is Ganduje getting his immunity from Tinubu? EFCC should at least let us know.

Even then when he was the governor they could have made it public if they wanted to. Immunity does not protect you from scrutiny and investigation. It only protect you against prosecution.

My take: EFCC is not ready or going to do anything about it.

You are not affected. This is a different matter

But paying for goods and services using foreign currency in one's own country is another level of insanity

And our court should stop giving fine option to grievous financial offenders…let them do the time

Imagine one lawyer boasting of 50k fine option and thereby spiting the masses. Even if na one week let them eat the beans. Let’s sanitize our society. Money option won’t ever be a deterrent.

Wait for those sad and bigoted followers of Onwubuasi to start crying on this thread grin

They have already bombarded Twitter, spreading hatred and saying there is no igbo people in Aso Rock!!! They are selling this narrative in order to undermine the progress the president and the country are making.

What a reckless statement!!! 🤯

There is no parastatals that you you will not find any tribe including these bunch of sadists, headless mob.

Even news going around also confirmed these same people are involved in the leaking of government's documents both classified and unclassified. (All the leakages being experienced recently and in the past were done by bunch of...).

What we know is that these people already have packaged lies and propaganda they intend to dish out to their gullible followers at every turn of time.

I pity them because they will only end up giving themselves high blood pressure. Nobody dey gree for them. Nobody takes them serious.

Their Onwubuasi has been going on tour from one northern state to another on jamboree seeking for votes in a country his kinsmen called zoo...no be juju be that

How far about Abure and LP grin

As long as they can still transact with people abroad in foreign currencies, it makes sense

But let's just tell ourselves the truth, the real culprits lie within places of privilege, the ones stealing N30 billions and billions and converting to USD thereby causing undue pressure on foreign currencies, but the ordinary citizens are to blame lol

When we're ready to fight the real corruption, we'll know

Oh..

And who are included in this "we?"

Truth is the masses are powerless to do anything without being led. And who go lead these wereys who don't even understand that the tribal and religious chasm between themselves and their fellow victims are just one of the reasons those in privilege position thrive in their excesses without being checked?

The foreign airlines are not transacting with the USD inside Nigeria, they only repatriate the money in USD (You pay your ticket fares in naira).
There are schools billing for tuition fees in USD(without the option of paying the Naira) right here in Nigeria which is something you won't do in a sane society.

Ordinary citizens do not pay for resources in dollars.
When the CBN banned the use of dollars as collateral for naira loan, was that targeted at ordinary citizens too?
I believe what the current CBN is doing to defend the naira should be commendable as it appears the previous CBN board were stepping.
