Nigerians drag producer Adanma Luke after news of Junior Pope’s death

Following Junior Pope’s passing, some Nigerians have turned to social media to criticize film producer Adanma Luke.

The news of Nollywood star Junior Pope’s passing reached social media, with reports circulating claiming he drowned hours after posting a video of himself on a boat to his Instagram profile.

Junior Pope wrote in his commentary that he was crossing the Niger River without a life jacket in order to go to the movie set after sharing the footage. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

He was heard telling the skipper to slow down because he was the only child of his parents and had kids to raise.

After the news of his death, some social media users attacked the producer, Adanma Luke for not ensuring his cast was protected. Netizens have dragged the producer for her inability to provide life jackets for his crew.

Security is a collective effort. But the security of each person's life starts with the person. If you are to travel by boat, insist on wearing a life jacket. If you carelessly accept to go without the jacket, the boat skipper will never bother to provide it.

Please nobody should drag Adanma Luke in this unfortunate incident rather we should blame the film makers that enterred a boat without life jacket, after all this is a contract and they charged Adanma Luke for the contract and she paid before they started arriving at the venue for the film shoot and this accident happened when they where going back to their destinations, they should have requested for life jacket before boarding the boat, there is another option available, to enter bus to Onitsha when they found out that there was no life jacket, this is negligence on the part of the sailor and the passengers. For example someone from Lagos got a contract or a business in Enugu and he flew or boarded a bus going to Enugu and after the contract or business and when coming back to Lagos there was a plane crash or an accident and the person lost his or her life, will you blame the person that gave the contract or business because there was life lost, this is life yes we know but we should not apportion blame to the person that gave them the contract or business. If it is a plane crash or road accident now nobody will blame the person that gave them the business. This will be a lesson to everyone not only Nollywood. Whenever you want to board a boat even if it is a short distance request for a life jacket or you can buy one and make it as part of your traveling bag.

Nigerians should rest abeg. She didn't force anybody to enter the boat unwillingly.

Everyone was at fault especially those idiots that were busy videoing a dying man instead of helping out.

I agree there's no point in dragging her but it's her responsibility to ensure that everything was in place for the success of the production which includes safety measures...blaming the dead alone is very silly.
