morgstreme:Are business owners not on band A . . . I went to print a day before yesterday and I was charged 7k instead of 5K I normally pay. I pretended to be ignorant about the situation on ground and asked why the increase in price, the business owner said he get 4 unit for 1k now hence the increase. Not surprised, anything that further impoverish the people, causes pain is what makes y'all Happy. Hope you're enjoying the situation of things in the country. |

WorldRichest:Why do you think they will be sad? You should be sad too if they are, just that you do not know it. Dangote is selling diesel to large buyers for 1250-1300. Now, by the time it gets to the pumps, at least ₦200-250 is added for transportation, petrol station running cost and profit. Is that not ₦1500 per liter? What difference is there? I buy a lot if diesel weekly, atleast 1000L so I know. For the past 2 months diesel has sold for 1500 at Nnpc and between 1500 to 1650 at private dealers. So if diesel comes from dangote and it still sells for 1475-1600 at the pumps, I would say dangote is a shylock that has helped no one! We thought and hoped diesel prices, considering how strategic it is to the Nigerian economy, would have crashed to atleast ₦300 - 400 per liter. Diesel is not petrol, it is the bedrock of our economy! From haulage of food, powering farms, factories, trains, hotels, eateries, shipping, schools, BRT, telecoms etc all rely on diesel. The airpeace fellow someone mentioned, came in scatered the aviation market, crashed the prices from 3m to 1m. That then compelled other airlines to act, driving the prices to below 1m. That is what is called being patriotic, not this rubbish dangote has done. The only gain from dangote will be if the diesel is of higher purity so your injectors wount spoil, or the savings assuming we are paying in local currency, which I doubt as we all know he is a shylock. 1 Like 1 Share |

Akamon:U sabi dem wella. When u see those ppl attacking someone for doing either evil or good, know that it's bcus the fellow doing d evil/good is not their 'brother'. They don't mind you doing evil so long as you are a kin. They have 2 separate judgements for nigerians: one for themselves and the other for nigerians: if u are a kin, they'll support you irrespective of the crime u commit. If you are not a kin, they'll find faults in whatever you do no matter how genuine. It is supposed to. Because price of diesel affects the manufacturing and transportation of goods more than the price of petrol. |

Re: Falling Diesel Pump Price’ll Reduce Inflation, Says Dangote by zionstaar75: 9:54am On Apr 11 |
nedekid:You're not totally right. If he sells at 1500 and people don't buy he will have to lower the price because it's about demand and supply and because the diesel is now being produced in nigeria nothing like price fluctuations because of dollars. Finally no more using of fx to import diesel so expect the dollars to keep falling like Reno said, Anybody that thinks all these are not worth celebrating is simply an enemy of Nigeria and a saboteur |

Re: Falling Diesel Pump Price’ll Reduce Inflation, Says Dangote by nedekid: 11:09am On Apr 11 |
zionstaar75:Bros, diesel is an essential product, it does not fall withing the ambit of demand and supply, it is not eg cornflakes you can chose not to buy if it is expensive, maybe drink pap instead. It is not petrol that you can decide to trek or ride bicycle. Diesel is like water for the economy. Diesel determines the price of goods, services, foodstuff, cost of living, Healthcare, education, tomatoes, potatoes, airtime, everything. Cut the price of diesel in half and you will see immediate difference. My aboki said his trailer driver brother said if he must see 4m before considering driving from Lagos to kano. Do you know a 100kva generator will blow 300liters in less than 2 days? I personally know minimum of 5 busineses around my area that have temporary shut down operations because of cost of power, hoping that when it gets cheaper they will open. Who is Reno to speak on what he knows nothing about? Dude lives in UK or America. We are the ones on ground involved in business and services here. As I wrote in my earlier message, the advantage of dangote is the quality of diesel should increase thereby protecting your injector nozzles ( assuming Nigerians do not adulterate it due to high price). The second benefit I wrote is as you rightly said the forex benefit. Naira should appreciate. But knowing our man dangote, he might do magomago to make sure he is paid in dollars(let's pray not). See op, I write this not to disparage naija, but out of disappointment comming from so much expectation with the refinary starting. Afterall if prices comes down, if Tinubu, dangote and the rest do well, it will benefit you, Me and all Nigerians. I can never pray bad for naija no matter who is in power. I actually pray Tinubu performs, dangote too. 1 Like |

Which kind foolish country is this? with all our crude oil wells ...no fuctional refineries. Why must we wait for only one man refinery to bring down diesel price is there no alternative to diesel we can explore?like biodiesel from renewable biomass source like jatropha, oil palm, rapeseed, soybean, cotton seed, castor oil |
Re: Falling Diesel Pump Price’ll Reduce Inflation, Says Dangote by ufotunang: 12:31pm On Apr 11 |
leokid866:...and also if they is competition in the refinery sector with other refineries coming up and starting...it will drastically bring down the price even to 200 naira a litre...see what is happening with air peace with other foreign airlines from Lagos to London flight,.they have started to reduce price of their flight ticket because of competition 1 Like |
