The Governor thereafter gave an automatic employment in the State Civil Service to the surviving elder sister of the deceased, and directed the SSA on Humanitarian Services, Umo Ekpo to renovate the family house and bring it to modern standards.

The Governor also assured of Government’s assistance to the two sisters of the bereaved who are undergraduates at the University of Uyo, said to be sponsored by the late Nollywood make- up artist.

This is commendable.

Yup! This is what I stated in a post yesterday on NL. The Governor of the richest crude oil-producing state in Nigeria has finally visited the family of the young lady... Next is to bring her body back from that riverside burial to Akwa Ibom for internment.

It's unfathomable hat this could have happened in a country that is trying to compete with the dollar.The country is in a very primitive state and the deluded leaders think that things can just become easier overnight. This could not have happened in n a state with a functioning government. There is no police investigation, no autopsy, and no lesson learnt from the accident. Not even a decent burial for the unfortunate victims.

The country has one foot in the 21st century and one in the stone age.

Before anything else, the body should be exumed and returned home for proper burial.
She must not be used as a sacrifice to a river goddess.

The dead is gone,whether buried in Anambra or Akwa ibom. Nonetheless, the governor is super and full of compassion.

it's not a sacrifice more like a cultural stuff.... If u go to Niger state you'll see a lot of white people buried at d bank of river Niger....

So unfortunate she died on the struggle, she could have opt out for hook up but she intended to work with her hand skills

yes.. Plenty sef.... Visit kainji or Jebba-north... Mongo park body couldn't be found so they built a monument for him instead.... If one dies while swimming or some people do jump from d bridge, one of my juniors back then went to swim and he drowned... They'll advice you to bury them at d bank or close to d river...
