Honestly, this has to be the most weak and impotent response I'd ever expect from Iran. If I were Iran I'd rather not attack right now and instead, keep Israel under continued anxiety for much longer than this ridiculous charade by Iran.

You attacked a sovereign country's consulate and you don't want them to retaliate or even have nuclear bomb. It doesn't work that way. If you knew they had nuclear bomb you won't do that. Their actions on the embassy and possible reactions from Iran are pre-calculated and pre-empted. Iran is playing into a well-laid plan that Saudi Arabia, Israel and USA, even Jordan has laid long before now.

Those missiles were intercepted with the help of US, UK, Jordan. Iran knows how to play its game. Either they were intercepted or not a message has been passed.
