Youth Leaders Demand Commissioner’s Apology To Gov Fubara

The Rivers State Ethnic Youth Leaders Coalition, have called on the Commissioner for Special Projects, Chief Chukwuemeka Woke to apologize to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, over his alleged uncomplimentary remarks against the current administration in the state.

The youth leaders, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Friday, also called on Governor Fubara to exercise discernment and decisiveness in addressing disloyalty within his cabinet.

The statement, which was signed the group’s chairman, Dr. Legborsi Yamaabana, stated that the interests of the state and its citizens must always take precedence over personal agendas and political machinations.

It reads in part: “The hallowed halls of governance demand a steadfast commitment to the principles of integrity, loyalty, and service to the people. Emeka Woke’s egregious behavior, compounded by his history of resignation followed by an unrepentant return, underscores a dangerous trend of self-interest and disregard for public good.

“We implore the Governor, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara to exercise discernment and decisiveness in addressing disloyalty within his cabinet. The interests of Rivers State and its citizens must always take precedence over personal agendas and political machinations,” the group said.

It further demanded a retraction and apology from the Commissioner without delay to the governor and government of the Rivers State.

We demand that Emeka Woke retract his egregious remarks without delay and issue a sincere apology to Governor Fubara and the government of Rivers State. His refusal to do so will only magnify his blatant betrayal of the Governor Fubara’s administration, an affront that cannot be overlooked or tolerated,” the group said.

The youth leaders lauded former Rivers State Governor and elder statesman, Dr. Peter Odili, for his unflinching support for the Fubara-led administration and the collective aspirations of Rivers people.

“As the political landscape evolves, let us heed the call for unity, accountability, and dedication to the advancement of Rivers State. Together, we shall navigate the challenges ahead and forge a path towards a brighter, more prosperous future for all,” the youth leaders said.

Hungry youths.

Why do Ogonis carry this Fubara government on their heads? People who have never been governors in Rivers State, always playing rubbish politics. Busy bodies. Every time they are on radio making empty noise for Fubara and supporting rubbish. As for the empty drum called Fubara, he should keep sponsoring people and fishing for sympathy. Cluelessness on display.

Fubara should not make himself a caricature. Anyone not loyal to his govt, might indirectly be working for wike.

Why won't he talk trash 🗑️🗑️🗑️

After all, most of them are still loyal to Wike but they forget that Wike is no longer controlling the Rivers State Treasury...

That is where Sim Fubara has an edge...

He would eventually use money from the State Treasury to buy the hearts of most of the electorate..

And we are seeing that already.

Some of those Wike supporters are now joining Fubara because they now understand that Sim Fubara is the undisputed Political Leader of the State....

And if you don't align with him, your mouth nor go lick pepper 😋😋😋

Despite the agreement signed doesn't mean he can't fire any commissioner that insults or disregard his office.

If they want to work with him well and fine, if they want to be talking against his government they should be fired immediately. The agreement is not a guarantee to insult the governor.

Fubara please man up and do the needful, anyone that was recommended by Wike to you that comes out in the public to insult you should be fired immediately.

He can! The commissioner is his employee. He can hire and sack any appointed officer without taking any permission from anybody.

He is taking his liniency for weakness. He can't try that with Wike.

All those commissioners disrespecting Fubara because they think they have the support of Wike, they will soon understand that there can only be one governor at a time in a state.

Imagine a mere commissioner who is an appointee of the Governor insulting a sitting Governor who appointed him publicly.
This Fubara is too soft for my liking. Let him excercise his exacutive powers and flush them out, jail all of them and heaven will not fall.

This governor sef dey vex me to the marrows. He seems toothless.

Even appointees now disrespect him. What nonsense agreement did he even sign with Tinubu and Wike that is about destroying him?

Commissioners are the most loyal appointees, but Fubara own get power pass am.
Re: Youth Leaders Demand Chukwuemeka Woke's Apology To Governor Fubara by Cantonese: 9:05am On Apr 15, 2024
Hm.

Citizens must get to the point where they hold leaders accountable for their words and deeds. Citizens must not follow leaders who use money to easily sway them and continue to make life miserable for them.

When you find yourself as an employee, your loyalty must be unquestionable. If the said commissioner is not able to serve the state under the governor, then without delay he must resign. If he's political trajectory is at Cross purposes with that if the governor, he has no business in that cabinet.

Again godfatherism is very difficult to discard. Political leaders worldwide have their preferred candidates. However, when disagreements like this between Wike and Fubara are not settled, the business of the state will continually be in jeopardy.

In all fellow Nigerians, our choices determine how far we can go in terms of development and better societies.

there are two state governments in Rivers right now.. nothing wey you go tell me..🤔🤔🤔🤔

In the end, it's Rivers people and governance that suffer.

The 'selected' governor loses nothing.

The Godfather who chooses his own commissioners, the numbers he want and even assign them portfolios by himself.. he loses nothing..

It's up to the people of River to liberate themselves from Political slavery. When the people allow 'selection' as had happened in Rivers, they have no say in how the government is run..
