The Central Bank of Nigeria has announced a review of the loan-to-deposit ratio (LDR) for banks, from 65 percent to 50 percent to align with the current monetary tightening.

The CBN disclosed this in a circular on Wednesday titled ‘Re: Regulatory Measures to Improve Lending to the Sector of the Nigerian Economy’, signed by Adetona Adedeji, its acting director of the banking supervision department.

This is the major thing Tinubu needs to do if he wants to reduce the burden of hardship on the masses.

If you know what custom charges importers you will feel sorry for them, the dollar alone isn't what determines market price. You can't tell an importer to pay over 5m as import duty for a single car. That's day light robbery.

These guys are just experimenting. CBN should peg the Naira to the USD, government should come out clean about subsidy removal, and our judiciary should redeem their rottening image by embracing the ethics of their profession without prejudice, bias or any form of favoritism.

What we have now is a 'banana republic' where anything goes!

It's so sad.
