ABC News and CBS News had reported earlier that Israel had carried out a military operation in Iran.

Italy’s Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said the US told the Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers that it had been “informed at the last minute” by Israel about an attack on Iran.

“But there was no sharing of the attack by the US. It was a mere information,” Tajani told reporters in Capri, Italy, where the G7 ministers met

Iran does not share border with Israel, nor Jordan or Syria. These are places Israel or her allies use their military bases to attack Iran.

Iranian radar will surely capture such drone if it comes from these military station.

With the way these ex governors stay failing at this godfatherism game, one probably has to give Tinubu his flowers for keeping Lagos on lock for as long as he has...but then again, its easier to keep everybody satiated when the pie is as large as Lagos'.

.....Iran claimed they hit multiple sites in Israel - its propaganda. 99% of their missiles were intercepted.

Israel is assumed to have hit few sites in Iran - yeah. Trust Israel, they are damn too sophisticated. LOL!

Someone Atiku will beat hands down in Presidential Primaries again.

All I see wike is doing or trying to do is to destroy pdp since he can't have his way.

He has always destroyed any chances of becoming the President of this country. Aligning with Tinubu and APC means he will have to wait till 2031 to be VP to a Northerner man.

Perhaps his game plan is to respect tinubu and run against any APC northern candidate in 2031

There's no way you'd dice Wikes move without it looking like he played himself... Man went from being a major political force in the PDP, probably even potential VP or presidential nominee for the party in years down the road, to becoming one of Emi Lokan's boys with zero prospects of getting any federal acceptance.

wikes power in pdp was over the moment his term ended

the hold wike had was the purse strings

wike was not and is not a leader or an influential person

his only hope for political relevance post governorship was to get in with the winner of the 2023 elections

After what happened to him at the last PDP primaries, what are the options left for Wike that is better than the path he chose?

PDP moved Wike up the ranks from LGA chairman to minister and then governor, I don't think the party as an instrument had beeb unfair to him, and getting blindsided because of over-confidene wasn't the party happening to him.

Wike would most likely have gotten a portfolio in the Atiku government had he chosen to play ball and reel his g-5 crew in and in 8 or even 4 years down the road he'd be making claim for power rotation South with him looking a solid option.

I don't see how his becoming a somewhat unwanted lackey is anything better than what the PDP would have given him, and this is me speaking on Wike's self-interest alone and not some rubbish bobo or not wanting another Northern after Buhari

The g5 plus Atikus sway would have seen the PDP across the finish line either way... There's a lot of pragmatic voters that hinged their decision on going LP way based on the rubbish that the g5 was constituting.

Wike was and is still quite influential and the last PDP convention is pointer to that. There's some people that might not have finesse, but they're able to wield influence... Wike strikes me as one of such person's.

........I believe we all know why Wike is doing what he is doing but don't wanna talk about it - deliberately.

When Atiku, Saraki, Dino, Shehu Sanni and co left PDP in 2014, betrayed not just President Jonathan but the Party, Wike stayed and fought hard for survival of the Party.

He supported and fought hard for Obaseki to win his second term under the Umbrella of PDP. He kept financing the Party, took the fight to the Central and won some. He played the opposition well and saved the Party from ruining.

When Atiku returned in 2018, he didn't do anti-party. He supported Atiku/Obi Ticket with full chest. He was all over the country, comdemning Buhari led Administration and urging Nigerians to vote PDP.

.....but when its turn of southern candidate to bear the flag of the party, Atiku refused to step aside. Southern Governors Forum had their first meeting in Asaba co-chaired by Okowa and Aketi. Their decision was clear; its turn of southern candidate to rule the country.

What happened next?! Okowa betrayed. Another southern Governor that was made Chairman of zoning Committee threw it open to all. Peter Obi saw it coming, he left the Party for Ellupee. Wike stays back as usual coz he is loyal to the party.

He is simply paying back Atiku, Saraki, Dino and Co.

Simple.

PDP helped Wike as much as Wike helped PDP

After 2015 when they lost and every major PDP power dispersed, It was Wike who held fort even when everyone in this Atiku camp were in PDP including this Atiku, Saraki Dino etc were in APC. I saw Dino attacking Ortom for being against PDP, when Dino himself was one of those who joined to sink PDP in 2015

Wike would have gotten a portfolio with PDP IF Atiku won the same portfolio he got with Tinubu?

The likelihood of PDP winning is even low the moment Obi entered the game with or without G5.

Lets analyze it
Of the G5 Ortom supported Obi,
Ugwuanyi and Ikpeazu are inconsequential cos their states was lost to Obi anyway
Wikes Rivers ended 230K APC, 88K PDP, 175K LP. So if Wike had handed over all the APC votes to PDP, It would be PDP320K APC 0. It will be 230K votes gained to cover a deficit of 1.8m. so it will still end with a almost 1.4m margin in favor of APC

What was the margin of Tinubus win over Atiku again? Almost 1.8M votes so how much did the G5 sway?

You said Wike should go and support Atiku, the same people who swindled him, And what was the guarantee that they will even give him a cabinet that Tinubu gave him. When till last minute the people who assured him of votes changed it for him

Wike weighed his options and saw the chances of Tinubu winning was higher than Atikus and decided to join forces with him than support a Betrayer who will still likely lose

Sometimes I just look at all these high rise building on Victoria Island and I begin to wonder how much LASG generates from owners of such buildings in terms of Land use charge, permits, rates and even the taxes companies occupying such buidlings pay to LASG. I mean when u look at buildings like Nestoil lasan.....hmmm

Now Tinubu has made sure APC remains in power so nobody opens the books of the government and start asking where what money goes to. Like u posited, when is as large as Lagos' u can keep everybody in check. Even if ur own boys revolt against u, they will come back crawling and begging like some of the APC guys in Lagos have done in the past. In fact with the kind money in Lagos, u can afford to fund a phantom opposition

How did Atikus swindle Wike? Wike spending for the party doesn't automatically give him right of refusal to the party's presidential ticket...the convention was a game of numbers and the process was made clear and transparent (no BVAS wahala)... It wasn't Atikus fault that Wike couldn't make the alliances needed to take him over the finish line, and for a first time run, he did well.

Voting dynamics are not simply a +/- thing, I still think Peter Obi wouldn't have swept traditional PDP strongholds as well as he did if PDP didn't have to deal with all the infighting...And as for Atiku appreciating Wike post election, its one of those things we might never know, but judging by precedents, odds were he'd have been, and would just have been if not more relevant than the Emi lokan singer he's become.
