The funeral ceremony of the First civilian governor of Anambra State Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife took place at the International Conference Centre Awka, and was hosted by the current governor of the state Prof Chukwuma Soludo.

The solemn event was attended by former governors of Anambra State, Peter Obi, Chris Ngige, Virgy Etiaba, as well as a former governor of Enugu State Okwesilieze Nwodo. Also present was President General Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, Ambassador Godknows Igali, representing the Bayelsa State governor, as well as the former Chief of Army Staff, General Ihejirika, Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof Charles Esimone, and a host of others.
