Hmm...

Sometimes, this dollar comparison can make things complicated and give room for supporters of this administration to make excuses.

The clear and obvious fact is that apc is failing Nigeria and Nigerians. The purchasing power of the common man has been seriously eroded.

1. Rice, between 90-98, averaged 1000 for 50kg.
Minimum wage averaged N300.
So you needed 3+ months salary to buy 1 50kg rice.

2. Between 1999-2010, rice prices averaged 6k.
Minimum wage averaged 7k. So a month's salary would buy you a 50kg rice with a little change.

3. Between 2011 to 2014, 50kg rice averaged 8k.
Minimum wage was 18k.
So a month's salary could get you 2 50kg bags of rice and have change.

4. Between 2015-date, 50kg rice averages 70k.
Minimum wage is 30k.
So you need 2+ month's of salary to buy 1 50kg rice.

When checked with other indicies/commodities, the erosion of the purchasing power of Nigerians is obvious.

When people complain that the apc needs to improve, it is because pre-apc was clearly better than the present apc.

Let's even use gas.

Between 2007-2014, cooking gas prices averaged N400 per kg. Minimum wage was 18k.
Which means you could buy 45kg of gas with minimum wage.

Now 1kg is 1,300 and minimum wage is 30k.
Which means today, minimum wage can get you just 23kg of cooking gas.

These are the realities that sane people are complaining about.

Before nko, the drug baron met it at #700 less than a year ago so it's current price of #1,100 is a very bad performance.
