This has been one of the major corrective measures in Lagos ,though harsh but very effective, after you visit that mobile court and pay the bail you will not take the risk of crossing for your own safety but use the pedestrian bridge

Thing is those bridges are few,

Imagine going to the other side of 2nd rainbow, in oshodi and Apapa expressway while coming the lords chosen,

There is only one Bridge, you will have to work a very long distance, before you come across another Bridge, which is again very far from your destination,
when a simple cross, then you got to where you are heading,

Sometimes, I just don’t understand how you people reason.

They’re talking Pineapple, you’re talking Mango.

The regular citizens you’re defending, are they insane or retarded to not abide by simple rules & regulations?

What is the essence of building Pedestrian Bridges if your average “regular citizens” cannot be trained like monkeys and circus animals to use them?

If they’re knocked down by Dangote Trucks now, you will be among the people that will curse the Government for not providing enabling infrastructures to avoid the unnecessary accidents.

pls read again if you dont understand simple english.

the zeal to arrest and harass regular citizens. I dont see this same zeal being channeled to agberos who constitute more nuisance than those who dont use pedestrian bridge

the part of what I said that you dont understand, pls let me know. which simple rules and regulations are agberos, touts and omoniles abiding by?

Even the silly 'arresters' go dey try cross very busy 'express' when off-duty, only for Ogun to jam dem.
The same sets of human 'beans' would obediently use pedestrian bridges in cities outside the shores of Nigeria/Africa.

The second picture, though... E con be like say the officer dey ready to administer standing doggy. 🙃😋

Human beings are they same all around the world. The truth is, if you have lived in white communities you will realize that as humans, we are prone to do negative acts where there are no checks and balance. I had a very surprising experience when I was trying to get my driver's license in Canada through their driving school.

What was not the reason why you campaigned vehemently against Ambode in 2015?
for your mind you have sense.

I have always supported Ambode..

is that the same way the Lagos state government is zealous towards agberos, omoniles and touts that harass and dispossess people of their belongings?

Which Omonile and tout dispose your of your belongings that's how you people will be running your mouth when your Onitsha, umuahia and ABA have hardened criminals that can even delete you and dispose you of your belongings

The street tax collectors are the reason you can now sleep with your own eyes, instead of them to make govt be spending recklessly on security, govt turn them to money making machine which is very sensitive while the money saved from security is channel to other sectors

You people are always envious of Lagos and if you're not comfortable with the way Lagos state govt run their state, relocate back to your mud region

can you pls do me a favour? can you pls tell me how onitsha, umuahia and aba are mine? can you also remind when I told you that those 3 nigerian cities are mine? are you telling me that you dont know any other nigerian cities apart from those 3? these "street tax collectors", which arm of government are they working for? who do they remit these their street tax collections to? are you saying that these "street tax collectors" are actually thieves and criminals who have been unleashed on Lagos? which government agency and law regulates their activities? what has envy got to do with the discussion and how does it invalidate the point made that agberos, touts and omoniles dispossess people of their possessions as acknowledged by you when you called them "street tax collectors"? pls where is my "mud region"?

Pedestrian bridge is alien to Nigerians culture and mentality. Pedestrian bridge is marjoly on 8 lane road or highway.

Is just like besting a wild monkey to make use of toilet . I new and more modern way is the zabra crossing system with solar lights to stop cars

Re: Video Of Lagosians Being Arrested For Failing To Use A Pedestrian Bridge by Bulldozer90: 10:10pm On Apr 21
You can't arrest someone for failing to use pedestrian bridge. That's not an offence itself.

I'm a big advocate of using the bridge...however, at night/ early hours of the day....its very dangerous to use it...some measures should be put in place to tackle those hoodlums loitering on those bridges

I'm against the bridge... and forcing people to use them. Are overhead bridges the only way for pedestrians to cross the road? Those that promote it... they have travelled abroad.... how do pedestrians cross the streets in urban areas? You're a big advocate .... have you considered the elderly? ... the ones with heavy loads? ... heavily pregnant women? ... people with high blood pressure? .... those with bad knees? ... those who just underwent surgery? ..... walking 50 metres to get to the mountainous bridge... climbing and jostling with others ? ....have you for a moment considered these people? What is wrong to having traffic lights and street level pedestrian crossings as done in saner climes for over 75 years? We are too stuck in the past.

For us black Africans, using the pedestrian bridge is continuation of oppression by the white man. We won’t use seat belts or trash our garbage properly because only fools do those.

They shouldn’t forced people to you it. It should be willingly. If the road is too busy then zebra crossing should be looked into. The pedestrian is too old to be enforced after 70 years. There should be an upgrade to modern way of crossing road.

This thread.
I was arrested last week Tuesday for crossing the high way at Iyana Ipaja.. it cost me 5k to get myself freed when we were later taken to their head office at Oshodi. The funny thing is I still crossed that same high way the next day (Wednesday). After I had crossed successful, I looked at myself and smiled....
