Lagos Govt List All The Illegal Estate Developments To Be Pulled Down In Epe Axi by Moroccoguy: 7:35pm On Apr 21
The Lagos State Government has taken decisive action against illegal estate developments in the Epe corridor of the state. Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, led a special joint exercise to the area, covering locations such as Alaro City, Okorisan, Igbodu, Molajoye, Shaala, Ketu, and Epe.

During the exercise, notices were served on estate developments including Patriot Bay Estate, Smart City Estate, The Legend, and Hilton Royal Garden, among others. Dr. Olumide emphasized that developers must obtain layout approval, planning permit, and fencing permit before commencing any estate development.

These requirements are essential for creating an organized, livable, and sustainable built environment. Layout approval ensures proper arrangement of the estate and allows for the provision of necessary services and infrastructure.

Planning permits address the planning requirements for individual plots within the estate. Dr. Olumide urged property up-takers and buyers to be cautious when investing in estates without approval to avoid unnecessary embarrassment and potential demolition of their property.

To assist developers and buyers, the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development provides a planning information service. This service offers information on approvable developments, zoning arrangements, and approval orders for specific locations.

The ministry’s staff is also available to guide developers through the necessary processes. Mr. Oluwole Sotire, the Permanent Secretary of the Office of Physical Planning, emphasized the importance of obtaining all required approvals before starting any project.

Additionally, property owners and developers are encouraged to take advantage of the 90-day amnesty period to regularize their permits for existing buildings.

Ambode shouldn’t have made his governorship ambition known at least for now. People will build only to be destroyed. Ask questions before you build.

So government agencies stay idle and wait till these buildings are erected then move in and pull it down

Is that how it's done?

Our people know what's right but believe the government can do little or nothing.

I am having the same issue with my neighbour but he keeps begging after building an illegal/unapproved structure thinking nothing anyone can do.

The building will go down no matter what, it might not be now but it will eventually.

Can’t the buildings be taken over by Government and used to provide cheap Housing instead of being pulled down?

If it's ilegal, then it has no right to be there.

However, they have 90 days grace I believe to regularize their permits, but anything in violation of permit rules may still come done still. Hence the reason why the permit always comes first.

Have you asked yourself this question

What were the agencies responsible for all these doing when they noticed people have started erecting buildings?

If only you have ever bought a land or build a house before and all these starts happening, if you open mouth talk like this then,I'll understand...

Na why I first go local government office and other bodies for alausa before I made purchase of any properties and I ask for c/o or government approval etc before purchase

To God be the glory, I don't just own any land or house. But not here to brag... Only few of my mates and those doing illegal can achieve what I own.

Now to the issue, what would you do if someone built I fence to block your water way or change the position of the original pillar just to get more space?

I am not an heartless person but I have observed that we know what is write, but we choose to do what we like.

I am not like many of you.

I have nothing to gain, I replied to your quote...

I said my neighbour did something illegal, you're telling me if I have land or have House I would have known.

I don't care about anyone's emotions, if you do any illegal things irrespective of who you are or who you know, let the law take the proper justice. Simple
