Havertz literally dragged Cucurella along with him for that his first goal grin. I never thought of Havertz as strong as that while under pressure. It is one thing for Odegaard to have measured the through pass correctly and it is an entirely different thing for Havertz to have held his own and not buckle under pressure while keeping his sight on goal. Everything about that goal was just so sweet.

Partey just makes what he does look so simple. Those vertical passes just gives our creative players more openings and opportunity to open up Chelsea's defense. That was how we were able to make Chelsea defense look so confused for the 5th goal scored by White. They just look on is disarray.

I feel if Partey had started that Villa match, we could've really opened them up and score before we conceded. Anyways, however the season ends I want us to beat Tottenham and United and I also want us to score up to 100 goals this season. We have scored 82 now after 34 games while we scored 88 in 38 matches last season.
Like jodera said something must have happened at half time because the kai of second half was different from the one we know all season

Omorrrr, this team is almost set.

We just need that Kane type of striker that knows how to play this system well. Person that know how to interplay yet still be ruthless and know when to attack the box. The kind false 9s we're having now is just lacking that right instincts to attack the box.

We'll be deadly if we get such
You see ya life grin

When we argued about GJ not scoring goals like a typical striker that scores 20+ goals a season. You said he wasn't clinical as a striker, I said he cannot be clinical because he gets involved with open play which means he is not always available for the final pass. Though you finally came to terms but have forgotten that you were actually against not having a striker.

No wahala
Anybody who followed our argument then knows that his clinicality was because of too much romancing the ball and not been able to score goals even when the chance presented itself.
He's always at the end of all our whole chances and I told you that he playing as a false 9 didn't stop him from getting chances to score, yet you claimed otherwise that he needs to play as a natural 9(using mitrovic and other Strikers as example), so that he won't be "tired" when such chance presented itself.

How you'll claim a year later that you're a proponent of false 9 while I'm a proponent of natural 9 is befuddling.

Anything just to claim W sha, grin

We have a scored 104goals already this season. More than Man City with Haaland, and Liverpool with Nunes or whoever. So how would we convince the owners that we need a striker. What would be his job? Score goals?

I have stated here times without number (but you guys are not humble enough to give me my flowers ) that as far as Arteta's tactics is concerned, he does not need a traditional striker. That the reason is because whoever is playing front is only acting as a decoy. He is actually an AM. He prefers a multiple outlet for goals than a single one. That is why despite scoring 100+ goals, no one has scored a hat trick this season.

When I had that argument with Jodera about Gabriel Jesus not playing as a striker he thought I was silly. You know a striker from his movements and positioning. Kai Havertz is another perfect example of an AM playing as a striker, someone who can drop deep to overload the middle. These are Arteta's tactics this season and it has worked tremendously well for him.

See, any time Arteta goes for a striker which is possible just know that he wants to change tactics (or perhaps have an alternative tactics) to what we are currently playing. But as far as this tactics is concerned, we don't need a traditional goal scorer. We only need players who can drop deep from attacking position.
You are lying city have scored 110
lfc scored 123 and are the highest
Get the fact right

Any of our defenders would've dispossesed Havertz with the ball in that first goal aswear. Maybe except for Zinchenko sha, but none of our starting defenders would allow Havertz journey that much to even attempt a shot.

On a second thought, I think Cucurella got a yellow card in the first half against Saka and didn't want to risk a foul lest he gets red carded.

The sweetest thing about the game was he didn't get red carded so Chelsea fans couldn't console themselves with the fact that they lost scandalously due to red card. They just had to chest the 5 goals and accept in in good faith. We had 17 shots(10 on target and 7 off target) to Chelsea's (1 on target and 4 off target). Imagine if they had gotten a red card grin grin
True, that yellow card is a valid point and I think Havertz knew that's why he capitalised on it.

I've never seen Havertz carry a ball such great distance with a defender at his back. That reason you gave is very very valid cheesy

Omorrrr... The thing pain me as e no reach seven or at least six. The Martinelli missed chances pain me sha. We for don avenge that 6-0 wey dem give us then

One of my Arsenal friend says since the rumor and his hype that he's been watching him at Lisbon matches and that he looks the deal.

Link up, workrate(pressing from front), presence and spatial awareness.

Fingers crossed tho

This is Van Persie been branded false 9 as far back as 2009 and even Rvp sef have called himself a False 9 , the last picture.(in this case he called it 9½ ; variant between 9 and 10)

Anybody who watches Van Persie during his time knows this. But I guess you're not familiar with the word then.

A false 9 doesn't necessarily mean a midfielder playing as striker, that's where you're getting things wrong. Jesus wey you dey call false 9 no be striker?

A false 9 is more of a role than a position or Identity.
