No no no, the problem began when a picture of Kim Jong-un inaugurating a housing project surfaced, and someone used it as a chance to criticize Nigeria, like they often do with every small thing. Then, another person, lanre316, pointed out that this only showed the positive side of North Korea and that they also have negative aspects. But instead of addressing that, the argument quickly shifted to comparing the military strengths of both countries to try to win the debate. It's clear that North Korea has a stronger military than Nigeria.

Thank you very much, bro.

No, that is false I don't know who accused him of being pro-westerrn. But what is being debated here is that military technology Nigeria is no where close to NK ... What is there to argue about? Or does acknowledging a truth makes you less patriotic? While we all want Nigeria to grow we can't deny the BIG BALL OF CORRUPTION holding it back ... We all saw the deputy minister of defense in Russia facing trials for bribery. Can such a high profile person be arrested In Nigeria?
Our government needs a purge and corrupt officials should be eliminated just like it's being done in so called communist and dictator state or military rule, the consequences of corruption has to be death.
Only with this can Nigeria experience a real development and a real investment needs to begin in our defense industry,
Democracy is not for us, it works for the West and not us. Military rule would be better
Did you follow the argument?

If you did..then point to the particular comment where I argued that Nigeria's military is more technologically advanced than that of NK.

Nigeria govt is corrupt agreed.

But Nigeria is better than North Korea in all economic aspects FACT and it's glaring for everyone to see.

The bold is their escape route...I don't get why most of them think every nation's earth is better than Nigeria. Post a video of one beautiful place in Somalia or Iraq and watch them shout Somalia and Iraq is more developed than Nigeria.

i dont wish to argue and i get the angle you are coming from. So let me give you a few points... You know that there is actually very i mean freaking little info about nk, this even involves finances to a very high reguard. NKs GDP sucks due to little info, as it cannot even be fully extimated. Volume of trade between NK and even its neighbours is very tiny. On the other hand this same country despite years of economic and weapon trade embargo has still found a way through cooperate socialism to squeeze enough money to create a creepy military. I am not a fan of kim, but one thing im sure of is that NK is not as miserable as you think...

Do not let buoyantly ignorant people gaslight you into puncturing holes in your own convictions.

Juxtaposed with the 2023 population estimate of slightly over 27 million inhabitants, North Korea's GDP is doing just fine for a Nation shouldering heavy sanctions spanning a number of years. Their youth unemployment rate is a tad below 22 percent spread between the ages of 17 and 26 years old. Let us not deviously ignore the fact that the very basic of amenities are available to almost all citizens, which is a constant work in progress. Kim Jong Un might be firm-fisted in leadership but he's proven to be a reasonable leader thus far, mostly considering the meagre resources and limited global economic access at his disposal.

Anybody who tells you otherwise is either being disingenuous or deliberately basking in proper idiocy!

It's very shocking to even see some of em label me a pro-West....anybody who knows me on this forum knows I don't do Western fan shit on here. On this same thread, I have voiced my support for Russia, China, Palestine, and even North Korea, but mean being objective now makes me pro-west...

I read your conversation. People were majorly pointing out that it's unfair to compare North Korea with Nigeria. North Korea has been at a threat of war for decades. A war not just from any nation but from the United States, along with its NATO colleagues, Japan, and Australia. (Up to 40 countries in total.)

On top of that, North Korea is heavily isolated. It is majorly surrounded by water, which makes smuggling anything in or out of the country difficult. Its northern border with China leads to a mountain range while its southern border with South Korea is filled with mines.

Then, add the thousands of sanctions that the US and its allies have slammed on it. To cap it all, the country has limited natural resources, at least, the ones everyone always needs, like oil and gas.

Despite this, North Korea is still able to build power stations, satellites, and the rockets it needs to put those satellites into space. It mostly plants its own foods and builds its own stuff, including ships. And ow, it built nuclear weapons, even before Iran.

With all these in mind, is it really fair to compare Nigeria with North Korea?

Which of those stuff that North Korea has built does Nigeria have? What have we built? That was the origin of the disagreement.

A heavily sanctioned, and yet well-educated country with lots of scientists and engineers that can build stuff vs a non-sanctioned one that most likely still imports toothpicks.

That said, what we know about North Korea is what the Americans told us. And the downsides of North Korea (which you pointed out) are mostly the results of sanctions and not the result of the country's inability to do stuff. (It is very important that you understand the part in bold.)

Meanwhile, the downsides of Nigeria is the result of our inability to build anything. Have we even built anything? Even our roads are built by Chinese, Lebanese, and Syrians and not Nigerians. Ordinary public water, we can't do. So where is the comparison coming from? What really is the point?

The comparison between North Korea and Nigeria should never even come up in the first place because of the sanctions that have prevented North Korea from reaching its potentials.

If Nigeria is the secondary school footballer who isn't very good with football, North Korea is like a professional footballer with one leg. Those that sanctioned it took the other leg away 😀

I almost cry for NK after reading this your write up. you do know its not Nigeria's fault that NK is heavily sanctioned or surrounded by water or any of those things you mentioned right?
The argument was; Overall is NK better than Nigeria?

What are you even talking?? Go ahead, compare the positive side of Nigeria with even the Negative side of North korea and see who will still win., when you're done, you go ahead and compare the positive with positive.
It's obvious you dont have data to watch the video documentaries on North korea i posted earlier. It's a pity!!

And by the way, North Korea is 80%++ far better than Nigeria-(that's even on constant yearly foreign aids/loans) in all aspect of life necessities (aesthetics, technology, education, infrastructure, healthcare, housing, security, food, discipline, national prestige etc just name it).
I saw one western propaganda that North Korea ain't allow access to the internet i just laugh.. North Korea that i know?? One of the top best country in codding and hacking?? A country almost fully integrated with online automation and control sequence?? Really, Africans has a long way to go, i wish Nigeria well with this kinds of uninformed typed of humans in it's coffers. Nigga you missed the whole idea of having a functional brain and like DJ Trump always say, lots of you here are not worth discussing with!!

It's not prideful. I'm not rich nor wealthy but this is the standard I've set for myself since my 300 level. Remember you become what you feed your mind. So I find my mind with this fact that I will never be buying 2nd hand stuffs especially gadgets ever again. I may not have the money to buy it immediately but I'll save to buy it brand new. That's how I've been since then. I'm still struggling to make ends meet but I'm growing. It's not pride is just a standard and a projection I'm feeding my mind. If you settle for less you'll get less, if you settle for the best, you'll get the best, the mind is a powerful and it's a terrible thing to waste that power.
