As a man, make sure you own a building, before leaving this earth. E get why.
Instead of you to own a building own a business what do I mean. If you have 20million, don't go buy a land and start building rather take a chunk of it and start up a business and the grow it. As long as your business is growing you can conveniently pay your rent and subsequently use the interest generated from the business to build.

You are only building for yourself to enjoy a complete aesthetics in your home and not because you want to keep it for someone. Rather than keeping a house for the next generation, keep a business that could maintain and keep your next generation.

There are wicked Landlords
Same way there are wicked Tenants.

If you are a good tenant, pray for a good landlord & also pray to move into your own house.

Go and build your own house. Nobody forced anyone to move to Lagos or rent from any landlord. If you don’t like go to your father’s house or build your own.

Can you point 5 businesses in this tinubu administration that you can invest 20m in and it would grow reasonably within 5 years, without stories that touch. I'm not talking of stocks and investments, I'm talking about business.

Tenants can win against their landlords if they could form association like Tenants Association of Nigeria. (TAN) which should also have an anthem to scare off their opponents.

This will obviously lead to United tenants vs United landlords face offs.

Can Nigeria Tenants unite and fight against Landlords Wickedness??
What's "landlord's wickedness" if I may ask? Is it by force to rent from a landlord? Buying a house, building a house, living in hotels or short-let units are options. Why not buy a land and build yours instead and see what those that did that went through yourself?

Why unite to fight against landlords who put their sweats out there to build a property that you dont want to pay for after your rent is due?

Many landlords are even tired of having tenants in their homes, they prefer the peace of mind. I personally prefer the peace of mind that comes with not dealing with tenants' wahala. How much dem dey pay me sef versus the headache that comes with dealing with some of them?

Some tenants will even owe you for six months and vow you cannot evict them according to some government laws, like its the government that helped the landlords build their houses.

I'm a landlord and I pay government levies, CDA fees, security fees, and still spend on maintenance of the properties without asking the tenants for anything towards all that. All the tenants pay is just their flat rent for a year, all other expenses are on me. To me, Im doing them a favor because I can comfortably do without tenants in the properties.

I dont live with them in Nigeria, I just dont want the properties empty while Im away. So, why would they want to revolt?

I dont even know my tenants because I have neverseen them nor spoken to them before. A caretaker and a lawyer handles all the agreements and due fees. Ut when its time for community development like fixing roads, solar street lights, thrash issues etc, thats when they start bugging me. Im tired of all of that already.

Some tenants will even rent out their rented apartments at higher fees to someone else without informing the landlord. You just find out its always new faces in your own house - tenant suddenly makes himself a landlord and makes profit that should belong to the original landlord.

If you know the stress landlords go through, you wont think tenants revolting against their landlords makes any sense.
Re: Can Nigeria Tenants unite and fight against Landlords' Wickedness? by SmartPolician: 3:33pm On Jun 05
You cannot fight them. Only government can use laws to regulate their wickedness

Unfortunately, the government doesn't seem to care so much.
