The Honourable Minister of the FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike on Saturday, 27th April 2024 visited ongoing project sites in the city to ascertain the progress of the projects. The projects visited by the Minister included the Construction of the Southern Parkway from the Christian Centre to Ring Road 1, Full scope development of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) from Villa Roundabout to Ring Road 1 and the Construction of the Vice President’s official residence. Others are the Completion of B6 and B12 Circle Road, also known as Independence and Constitution Avenue and the full scope development of the Arterial Road, N20 from Northern Parkway (Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Expressway) to Outer Northern Expressway (Murtala Mohammed Expressway). The Minister who recalled that the FCT Administration made a promise to residents of the FCT to complete the ongoing road projects by May this year to showcase the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in one year in office, said the projects were on course to being completed within schedule. Kudos to FCT Minister Wike. Abuja is Nigeria’s seat of power so every part of it, as much as feasible, should be up to standard if budget and available resources allow for that. Especially regarding road infrastructure. 8 Likes |

in nigeria when the government says we will invest in infrastructure, what they mean is construction and rehabilitaion of roads. The more roads u build u earn urself the title of infrastructure king. 1 Like |

Wike has shown that Nigeria can work if the right hands are employed and the will is there. Kudos to the FCT minister. Kudos to the Jagaban Baba himself. PBAT Our dear President who had the wisdom to appoint Wike. If this pace of rapid infrastructure development is maintained the FCT would soon cement it's place as one of the best capitals in the world. 9 Likes |

Truth be told.. in terms of road, what Wike has done in 8months wasn't done in 8 years by the Previous Bello.. not even upto half.. Wike brought back Physical governance and infrastructural development to the FCT.. the previous people just left everyone assuming while they steal money.. the last time FCT see this kind of work was during the ElRufai era.. Highly commendable 👏🏼👏🏼 2 Likes |

Cindypresh: Which year are you counting from? Abuja was proclaimed capital in 1976 and building started during Shehu Shagari’s government between 1979 and 1983. Unless you are talking about moving the seat of power there by Babangida. |

Paraman: Where in the world are roads not repaired? There’s absolutely no standard that you’ll build any road that it will not need rehabilitation at some point. What we lack more in Nigeria is maintenance culture for not only roads but also buildings and other infrastructure. |

Tranquill:Do you even get my point at all? Why's Sanwo olu not rehabilitating the Lagos Airport road that was constructed by Ambode? A lot of roads in Nigeria are in bad shape, so they are been rehabilitated. Tinubu and Umahi won't be rehabilitating the Lagos Ibadan expressway because it's in a good condition. |

Though am not an Abuja residence but I like to thank Bola Tinubu for 3 appointment of Wike Umahi and that minister of interior. Those are the shining light inhave seen in this administration, Keyamo Cardoso Edun n others need to buckle up because they are far behind this pace setters. |
