Shocking moment In Oakland, California, a person wearing a mask stole more than 40 brand-new iPhones from a store. It happened during the day, and many people were there, but nobody stopped the thief.

The thief moved quickly, grabbing iPhones and putting them in his pants. Nobody did anything to stop him. Once he had enough, he ran out and drove away in a car.

Luckily, wearing one's trousers down around one's knees makes running away from crime scenes virtually impossible, thereby making the job of police officers much easier. The California law that limits shoplifting prosecutions to items valued over a thousand dollars triggered an epidemic of smash-and-grab crime in the Golden State. That utterly insane law needs to be repealed so that these thieving coons can be sent to jail where they belong, and where free food awaits them all.

Ultimately, the habit of displaying pricey merchandise within the grabbing range of ghetto monkeys will go the way of the telephone booth, and be replaced by the retail sales model seen with some shopping outlets in the UK, whereby customers are only allowed to view the product line in color catalogs available in the retail store. After selecting the item they want from the color catalog and paying in full FIRST, a store employee then goes to retrieve the selected merchandise from a secure back room storage area, which is then handed over to the customer waiting at the counter.

One young man here in Nigeria that i used to know, one evening, he was out with his fiancee, they were both walking, when a phone thief snatched his babe's phone. Our guy took off after the thief, caught him, there was a struggle, then the thief pulled out a knife and stabbed the guy in the neck. Death was instantaneous. Sad thing...he was to get married in a few weeks.

Also, the police cannot approach them. Racisim, or something.

Super old story. I saw this around 2015 - 2017. Nairaland carrying last like its regulars. That boy only gave himself menial labour. Those phones will be of no use once he steps out of the store. Apple can use one of them to track him for the fun of it.

However, why do I feel this particular video is staged? Who was filming and why didn't the person filming worry about the possibility of bein attacked by the thief?

Why bother with the risk of stopping the thief when the devices will be blocked and replaced almost immediately.

The car outside the store is a law enforcement car. Guy came well prepared. I'm not sure if the display phones can work as per normal or have special "locks". Change of certain laws in the name of easing overcrowding in prisons has caused a steep increase in this kind bold shoplifting ... smash and grab. Guys be walking in stores ... pick what they want and simy walk out... and be selling them on the streets.. People complaining... "and people just stand by and watch... did nothing"..... only an idiot will intervene.
