The justification for increase in power is baseless. This Draconian rule is not healthy for the country

The best social-welfare program in the country is subsidy! It reaches everyone and everything. IMF's advice that the government should remove subsidy and redirect the money to social-welfare programs is very unfair to the people. Now, they are still paying subsidy and the people are now paying through their noses. It would have been cheaper, easier, more convenient and more people-friendly to simply pay more attention to the subsidy itself undecided

Ironically, the "almighty" US and UK don't pay this much even with a far higher minimum wage and far better supply. It's well.

This Minister of Power simply does not want Nigeria to develop...how can a Minister be proud to accept that people will be given 5 hours supply of light..rather than uninterrupted 24 hrs supply of light in the whole country?

Is 5hrs, or band A,B, C what they experience when they travel abroad?

The commission, using technology, discovered that many of the feeders that the Electricity Distribution Companies currently brandish as Band A are not meeting the required service and as such the feeders were ordered to be downgraded immediately as a way of protecting consumers,” he said.

I have benefited from this downgrade, frok N225 to N67 per unit

U no get shame at all. You think you are the only who supported this administration to power, right?
Does it even make sense to you for any African country to be paying non justifiable huge amount of money for energy when economically developed countries with higher income per citizen are paying less?
Remember, all these people in power removing subsidy on this and that do not even pay one naira for fuel or power supply as they are getting it free at the expense of the masses.

I don't know of private houses but businesses are burning hundreds of thousands of naira on generator fuel & maintenance. They would happily accept 200k bill if the light is at least 20 hours per day.

Well it is worth it for 20 hrs of guaranteed power supply daily.
The way some of you reason on this forum can be so annoying.

So according to you, paying 170k monthly which amounts to 2040000 (two million forty thousand naira) yearly is worth it. In a country where the minimum wage is 30k and the average salary of most Nigerians is less than 500k?

So if you're removing 170k every month out of your salary for light, how about your transportation to work, what about rent, your kids school fees, feeding...etc. How do you expect such families to cope coupled with the insane inflation of food prices we're currently experiencing?

I don't blame you. Most of you Tinubu's supporters are already used to suffering. So whatever policy Tinubu brings out is ok by you. As long as your 30k for drinking garri is available, you don't care about anything thing else.

What a miserable way to live.
