emkz: That is what I'm saying. There is no land for the highway to pass through. I would have asked you to show me that land where the road would pass through if you were in Rivers State. |

CluelessMODS: This is how a fraudulent coastal highway that won't go beyond Lagos state is known. A cretin like you defending the indefensible should have shown the areas the road would pass through in River state rather than hoping that the construction company knows it all. Thièfnubu and everyone handling this project are bunch of thieves. Little wonder the construction is starting from Lagos state. |

iSense247:Which region is landlocked? Have you been to UAE before?UAE that dredged to the ocean bed and invited a pull of ocean to their doorstep and turned it into a world class sea port? River Niger was better, compared to the arid( desert) land where they created a pathway for the ocean to reach them. Yaradua was a president Nigeria never had. He approved the dredging of the river Niger up to lokoja. I remember that day. Successive governments simply abandoned the project. We're just not ready for growth in Nigeria yet. In less than a decade, they'd make double that investment in profit if they can dredge. It can be extended to Lokoja, which happens to be Anambra's neighbor . I've been to the river Niger spot in lokoja where there's confluence hotel. I once saw a boat that came from onitsha and returning with passengers. Tribalism, bigotry and the likes have caused Nigeria a lot of setbacks, which had caused several nations who couldn't wear our shoes to leave us behind. Sadly, we're yet to learn any lesson from it. This cuts across all tribes. No one is exempted. 1 Like |

emkz: No problem bro. I have looked @ the map clearly and considered the areas mapped out for this project and to the best of my knowledge, it is quite impossible. We have Bua sugar factory and NPA located on the shorelines in Rivers State in a particular location. Are they going to remove the both for this road to pass through? In some places in River state, the shorelines are peoples villages. Are they going to be uprooted from their ancestral homes for this road to pass through? Same thing is applicable to Onne wharf where cargo ships barth. Are they going to remove those gigantic projects that costs over 30 trillion naira? 1 Like |

All it will take is you will inhale a gas that will paralyze you. Your police and thugs will not be exempted. But I like said, a lot of you are just lucky to be in Nigeria where there are too many foolish people who go out to vote without arming themselves... And yes, there are some of us willing to carry out such act... let me come and see how Wike and all others will have guts to talk carelessly. |

Macphenson: Agreed on getting the facts right and that is the position I am speaking from. The cost I have no details on...but the engineering, execution and social economic impact I can boldly speak about. Yes there is the option of repairing existing roads which past governments had poorly built. There is also the option of expanding new fronts like the coastal road. Either way would result in a debate. A decision either left or right still has its merit. As an Engineer, I prefer a standard concrete road running across the country and which is durable than fixing bad roads that might need to be entirely re-built if it is to be done properly. RoW is RoW. Simple charting in surveyor general's office and sticking to approved boundaries would have saved some businesses billions of Naira in damages. Compensations are paid to those whose properties are affected by any adjustment in the RoW and who have approved papers. Just my professional contribution. 1 Like |

CheapHomes1: Huumm, really? Anyway I can only thank God we have a visionary leader as president for the first time in Nigeria. It's not how far but how well. The 3 of them had 8 years each in the past to write Thier names to the future. Thier records are clear. Today is the future. Unfortunately, anyone lesser than 20years as of 1999 will find it difficult to understand Thier performance levels from the past to the present future. Tinubu is not a joke from 1999. |

Peter Obi is not a presidential product at all. Easy/West road he claimed been abandoned is under construction for goodness sake. Lagos-calabar coastal road is laudable project that will help the 3 geopolitical zones including his region where he ruled one of the states and diverted the money meant for infrastructures to his own family business which is presently amount to nothing. He will still cry again because Badagry to Sokoto coastal road (the construction will start from Sokoto) too is under designing handled by senator Umahi. Thank God he didn't win presidential election emkz: |
