First is Lagos calabar road, the next is don't invest in Lagos all because a Yoruba man outclass the dullard they presented despite the intelligentsia in southeast

Repeatedly saying the same thing again and again for years without proper action to back it up. Isn't that psychotic?

Shouldn't SE be developed too, and become a place where all Nigerian will want to go and start a family for her economic opportunities?

Why do you feel its a punishment when they ask you to look home?

Why do you think you're hurting us if the number of people that sell Ghala and lacassera and those that sell dvd and phone accessories (using wheelbarrow) on our streets are reduced?

When we ask you not to encourage terrorism and thuggery in your region so that your region can be viable place for business and people inflow, you called us names, you also tag your people who did not agree with your idea saboteurs and get them murdered.

Even this woman cannot travel home for the fear she can get killed.

Them no go hear, but their investment go hear am! If you have properties or sellable investment in Lagos, kindly walk up to a bank, take a short term loan, equivalent or 80% of the investment worth, using your property as collateral. Kindly default and allow the bank take the property!

Divest from Lagos. Locate any town or village with access to sea outlet and buy properties. One day, infrastructures go reach there and the Lagos property market will go bust!

Maryanne Moghalu, the wife of former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) deputy governor and ex-presidential candidate Kingsley Moghalu, has sparked a social media storm with her recent social media post cautioning against investing in Lagos.

In the wake of the contentious dispute between Landmark, a prominent real estate developer, and the Federal Government, Maryanne Moghalu took to Social media to share her advice. Her post, which has since garnered over 200,000 views, serves as a warning to potential investors regarding the current climate in Lagos.

It's worth noting that Kingsley Moghalu was the presidential candidate for the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in the country's general election in February 2019.

The controversy surrounding Landmark and the Federal Government has raised concerns about the stability of investment opportunities in Lagos. Maryanne Moghalu's post adds to the ongoing dialogue about the implications of such disputes on the business environment in Nigeria's commercial capital.

Maryanne's post on X was very careless, inciting, and highly defamatory. She has to get properly educated about true events and think before posting next time so she is NOT to be seen to be demarketing Lagos State or any other state based on misleading information or confirmation bias. Maryanne can easily land or get charged to court and get jailed subsequently for incitement, demarketing and defamation if those who are directly affected by her demarketing choose to take this up LEGALLY and she would lose in court!

As a woman who has been married to Kingsley Moghalu for 30 years now, she has to learn to be guarded before posting online so that it doesn't affect Kingsley's image. Kingsley Moghalu is one of those who give very constructive criticisms and I respect him for that. I see that she owns a nail studio and likes posting on X (formerly Twitter), but she has to learn not to make very irresponsible posts like this next time. Period.

Lagos property market go bust? grin
If that's your wish, you are on a long thing. You will grow old and die and Lagos will still be there standing. There's no city on the West African coast as viable as Lagos.

Every investor must consider the long-term safety and sustenance of their investment before choosing a location and committing resources. Studies must cover local politics, culture, crime rate, competition, etc.

There is nothing wrong with investing in Lagos but there is always a risk. In Nigeria where ethnicity is exploited, policies are wrapped around a corrupt intention and politicians kill businesses of their opponents, it is advisable and safer to locate one's business in an area one has certain measures of control and influence. This, however, does not still guarantee that your own people cannot exploit politics to kill your business.

Two examples: What saved Innosson Motors from GTbank onslaught was the relocation from Oshodi expressway Lagos to Nnewi. But then again ex-Gov Wike demolished business of his opponents who are from Ikwerre as himself to punish them.

Bottomline is that there risk in every business move in Nigeria especially if it spins money enough to attract attention.
Thanks
Experience.

I remember some of you that will travel to your hometown to show off during Xmas that will begging us to send money to them to return to Lagos. You think it is easy to just relocate a business or setting up a new one without putting some business factors into consideration

Dunno if stupidity is subscribed to by just one particular tribe, other properties along that axis were also taken down to pave way for the greater good of everyone, elegushi and oniru were also affected, did you hear noise.... Make una carry una noise go jare!!!
If you must know , about 1,400 villages will be opened up for economic activities, do you know how many people's furtunes that will be turned around positively?
The easiest way govt can distribute wealth is via infrastucture.... Lemmie cite an example... I used to know a man very very poor but managed to own a plot of land which he use for subsistence farming and one room uncompleted building where he stays with his family, the moment ambode constructed the road along that axis, there was surge in the value of properties there, this man sold half of his plot, use it to develop the other half, got a small car that he uses for cab and built small shop for the wife to run biz, now they are living fine.
So stop being stupid and shouting cos of one man biz against the benefits of many, moreso , govt will compensate him as agreed.

She expressed her opinion and you term it irresponsible.

Government made a businessman (Landmark) invest around $200 million in a project and in less than 20 years the same government is demolishing the business in the name of building a coastal road. If it was the government that built Landmark, will they demolish it? No. They would have found a way around it and still build the road.

So without her saying it,the message has been sent. Investors will be careful because this shows government can't guarantee the safety of your investments.

Do you mean the same FCT where the same "is it because I am Igbo" is already renting the air over Wike's activities?

The only solution is for Igbos to have their businesses in Igbo land so that when Peter Obi or Theodore Orji or Charles Soludo is the one doing the demolishing without even any compensation, the rest of Nigeria will have some peace when every is quiet without tribal noise of victimisation.

So you, your friends, and all those you know should be better advised.

Go to where you cannot cry wolf.

We cry, then we get up and build back bigger, better and stronger.
Unlike you lot who cry and bark naked in the streets.
A nuisance all around the world, loud and full of jealousy.
All we want is our own port - isn't it one Nigeria after all?
Your hatred and envy will still never make you better than the Igbo business man.
One Igbo business person will still make at least 10 more business men through apprenticeships.
Thank fully they are now more open to accepting jobs in Abuja, once they arrive here they only return to your Lagos to pack their bags.

Soludo destroyed hundreds of properties in Onitsha, no one complained, hypocrites are now wailing bitterly because shanties on government land has been destroryed in Lagos.

They should be a justifiable reason b4 any government demolition, and also a compensation afterwards.

That's how a sensible government behaves.
