You all beg for investors, when investors see how appalling you treat your own, you think they will come. Investors be like the wise mistress, that sees the husband beating his first wife and realises that once she enter the house her own go worse. They already don't regard us, and when they see how savagely we treat our own, they realise they are dealing with people with little frontal cortex lobe. You hate Nigerians investing killing them with tax, insecurity and bipolar decisions and ate begging Kwara to invest. Very very low. Obasanjo, God bless him is one in a million |

I guess many Nigerians of recent generation have never witnessed a mega project of this scale designed and executed in their lifetime before. Most of the infrastructure we rely on today were built many decades ago, some even before Nigeria's independence. Projects like this is what Nigeria needs to improve the future of her people. I commend the current government for the courage to embark on it. If they don't do it, the money will still probably end up somewhere else with nothing to show for it. I wish them all the best and hope this master plan is not abandoned by successive government. Lagos is what it is today because the LASG govern with a master plan which successive adminstration have been faithful to. Otherwise, it will have collapsed under the weight of its own population. |

Sheuns:Abeg, also add this statement for enlightenment. I honestly don't understand what he is talking about here. “I’m very happy that the President has directed me to begin the design of one of the spurs linking to this coastal route, and that is the Sokoto-Badagry, which was conceived by the President Shagari administration. How can the coastal road that starts from Epe be one of the spurs linking the proposed Sokoto - Badagry expressway, which is expected to start in Badagry? A road conceived in the 70s even before the thought of a coastal road. You sure say Umehi no dey smoke loud? |

Tetrahedron:Read the concluding part of the post that are not bolded you'd see the main reason for this road. I would be the happiest if this road goes beyond Ogun State. |
| Re: Construction Of Coastal Routes Can Strengthen Naira - David Umahi by TOPMAN4LIFE: 7:24am On May 03, 2024 |
StOla:It's not southerners that are against the road but precisely Igbo people because the road doesn't pass through their land. They are always against good development since it's not Obi or that labour party government of Abia State that is doing it. They like to condemn leaders from other tribes and try to praise and promote their own. Peter Obi that didn't even have a landmark project to show in Anambra for 8 years is the one they are making noise about because of tribalism |

TOPMAN4LIFE:False. You are no different from IPOB - Ethnic jingoist. I am from the Niger delta and the proposed Coastal road is to pass through my village. I and many other Niger Deltans would prefer the completion of the East West road, we have suffered untold hardship on that road for decades. This is a project thar can be completed within the lifetime of this administration. How long do you think it would take to complete a 800km mega coastal highway that is to pass through beaches, swamps, mangroves and numerous rivers. Ordinary adding 2 lanes to the 70km lekki Epe expressway has taken close to two decades, and is still not finished. The 800km Lagos Calabar coastal road would take at least a century. |

TOPMAN4LIFE:Have you travelled by road in the country? You just mentioned that Igbos are against it because the road doesn't pass through SE, don't you think they have the right to do so considering they make most of the importation and need such road most? For your information, Igbos aren't against it, you simply don't know how to manage finances and you aren't different from wasteful politicians. The point is, We are all screaming about how broke Nigeria is, so why not fix the existing roads with a fraction of the budget for coastal road and use the remainder to boost the economy?? Coastal Road isn't an urgency and can be built later. What's needed now is to rescue Nigeria by saving as much as possible and investing in project that will help boost the economy as soon as possible. |

wirinet:I think anything an Igbo man says is automatically considered tribal but at the end, Nigeria will bear the consequences. He hasn't traveled by road so he doesn't know the condition of existing roads that's begging for maintenance. People are dying on these roads daily, rather than fix them they embarked on a 30 years project. |

Racoon:How is it going to help in strengthening the naira ? When you are destroying companies that attract tourists . The FG has not been able to secure the land and farmers can’t farm on their farmlands. There is no free movement of people and farm produce . There is no constant power supply and the tariff keeps going up on daily bases and govt looks the other way. This FG is the height of cluelessness. |

wirinet:as a Deltan they don't know dis ,must of them think it's the igbo's dats is against the project.... many of those fuul don't know people are suffering due to the high cost of things... Instead of this useless government to tackle the issue on ground they are busy constructing coastal high thieves because they want to loot again |
| Re: Construction Of Coastal Routes Can Strengthen Naira - David Umahi by TOPMAN4LIFE: 7:48am On May 03, 2024 |
1x2x3:You Igbo always criticize as your people are not part of those who cause problems in Nigeria. You produce and imported fake things from pharmaceutical drugs, to adulterated drinks to fake spare parts for vehicles and other machines which has caused death and waste of money among Nigerians. You go to other countries to commit crime like hard drugs and others crime and you still have gut to talk as if your region doesn't contribute majorly to the problem. Since you Igbo didn't vote for Tinubu and you all believe Obi is your president, ask Obi to do for you all what you need. You people criticize everything because of bitterness from the loss of last election . Niger Delta deserve more projects like this because the major resources is taken from their land and they have been their right in the past. You and Obi don't like mega projects but believe in mediocre projects |

TOPMAN4LIFE:I'm from Delta State Sir. It's like anyone who's saying something reasonable automatically becomes Igbo to you. I know you are slow to understand things so I will break it down for you like a 5 year old. You are on a tight budget of N3billion, how would you invest it to solve housing problems and get yourself out of a difficult financial situation? 1. You have 100 houses which needs maintenance at a total cost of 500M which will be completed in 6 years + the reminder can be used for investments. 2. Build 100 new houses with N3billion which will take 30 years to complete. |

Just blabbing gibberish! Yours is an import - dependent economy, not producing anything, the naira depreciation against the Dollar is because you are depleting the foreign reserves to subsidized the dollar, investors are leaving your country causing forex flight and all causing weakening of the economy hence the strength of the naira.
