Johnthesuccess: Even at 30% would have it's toll on us. Look we have other pressing issues than such Giant capital expenditure projects. If we invested such in agricultural projects which would automatically provide direct employment, I bet you it would do more good to the general populace than this coastal road. |

Shattuck:U just exposed ur utter ignorance in public. So constructing Lagos to Calabar Rd is like building a stadium in yobe or sending obidients to space in ur brain. Thank you for confirming my initial thoughts abt u. |

MRMRMR:you are the ignorant one unfortunately you can see it, maybe you don't understand what an analogy is, if you did you would understand my comment both the costal highway and the stadium in yobe are both infrastructural project both have economic benefits yet you cannot tell me how the costal highway is the best use of borrowed funds when it won't yeild the same level of return compared to investment in production, buhari did the same thing with his white elephant project eight years after Nigeria is the poverty capital, an economic mess while still borrowing to fund this white elephant project, nobody is against costal highway but this isn't the right time for it, neither is it the right time for a San siro stadium in yobe, you can't be doing either with scarce borrowed funds, when you are in an economic mess. |

Shattuck: And u don't think that investing in roads, airports, seaports, rails, power etc is the same as investing in production? Or do u want the govt to share the money to the poor and fellow politicians because we are in an economic mess. |
Re: Some Epic Coastal Highways From Around The World by Shattuck(m): 8:29pm On May 03 |
MRMRMR:there are alternate roads just maintain those at the moment with little of your resources, then channel the rest to sectors that provide more economic return, electricity for example, even using the money for the the coastal road, to making sure Nigeria has an effective ambulance system 🚑 is even better than the coastal road. Nobody hate the coastal road but it's timing is wrong that's all. |

MrBrownJay1: How's the express way from sagamu via ogun state? Think about that before changing your complete toilet and bathroom because your son didn't wash it. |

MRMRMR: We have enough roads in Nigeria, the problem is the state of our roads. If the Ibadan - Ilorin road is fixed, Lagos to Ilorin would be about 3 hours, Lagos to Abuja would be about 9 hours. I remember in the 80s when the road was still motorable, I drove from Lagos to Ilorin in 3 hours. Most roads in the east are not motorable, the East - West road is horrible. Ditto for sea ports. Nigeria has enough sea ports, the problem is the same with roads, they have been left in a state of disrepair. Upgrade of all the ports will have a massive boost on the economy nationwide. What the government needs to invest heavily on is Rails and power, and also education. Rails is what can make the transportation of goods and peoples safer, cheaper and faster. Before the US started their industrialization drive, they embarked of the Rail road project that connected the whole of the US. Power of course is what is needed to drive development. Then the other most critical factor to development is manpower which is education. Most countries in the top tier in the world's today have invested massively in education. They give free of very cheap quality education to their citizens, Most time up to secondary school level, sometimes even to university level. Here we are investing very little in education and mass producing illiterates that can add very little to the development of the country. |
