Lolz, in this part of the world, people don't place any value on their health. When small thing happens, you see people shouting online that government don't value the life of its citizens but the truth is, "an average Nigerian(myself included) doesn't value his/her own life".
Let me give examples:
No use of helmet while on the bike
No use of seatbelts when in the car
Not going to the parks to enter bus/car while travelling because entering "sole" is cheaper.
No use of condoms during coitus, skin to skin is very sweet🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Breeding of children like rats/pigs
Inappropriate use of prescribed medications, some won't finish their antibiotics while a patient you diagnosed of hypertension might not come back for follow up until he's down with CVA(stroke). The list is endless!!!

I don't see anything wrong with online consultation though. Medicine is evolving everyday, and telemedicine is now a thing.

Good morning good people of Nairaland, I want to share my own experience with itching and bumps on my private part. I want to share this so that any one having similar issues would have a better understanding of the problem. Because, I also read a few posts from other people here too that helped me.

It started around mid February, I was having eczema on my back and little bit of itching on my penis. So, I got some anti-fungal and tropical drugs for the itching and eczema that had started to spread on my body. After a while the eczema cleared but the itching continued. I spent so much already on the itching so I just ignored it. Since I wasn’t sexually active.

After a month, it developed into bumps around my scrotum, gland and buttocks.
This bumps would later itch like hell, and very sweet sensation, not painful no pus. Just sweet itchiness. The sweetest part of the itching was on the bumps.

I searched on Nairaland and started to hear similar stories and thought maybe it was scabies. I went to a Teaching hospital , and had a clinical diagnosis of scabies. Treated with ivec, benzoyl, etc but the itching and bumps were still not cleared.

I decided to go for a lab test 2 days ago, urine m/c/s. The result came out as Staph Aureus and yeast infection or so.
The pharmacist says 25,000 naira for treatment, injection, and drugs with cream.
I pray this get treated ones and for all.

This is for someone going through a similar problem. It might not be scabies or it could be. But First, get tested at the Laboratory to be sure. To avoid spending on whatnot.

I also need your thoughts in the comment section. And the test result interpretation. Thank you! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Seeing Staphylococcus aureus in an m/c/s test does not necessarily mean what you're suffering from is caused by it.

Staph is a part of the common flora on the human skin. In other words, it is usually found in urine m/c/s especially if the urine was not properly collected. Also yeasts cells are usually found in urine m/c/s if the urine was not properly collected.

Sincere med lab scientists know when what they're seeing is a possible contamination of the sample used. Even when they don't, your doctor is trained to match the lab result with the clinical signs and symptoms he/she is seeing. This helps him/her know when the sample could have been possibly contaminated or when there could have been a mistake from the lab.

Personally, I feel the Staph and yeast cells are contaminations from wrong collection of your urine sample.

My advice: Don't waste your 25k with the pharmacist. Go back to the teaching hospital and inform the doctor that you're still having the symptoms. Ensure the person you're seeing is a dermatologist. There are many things the dermatologist knows that any other professional might not know. There are already reported cases of scabies that were difficult to treat. The difficulty could be as a result of different reasons such as resistance to the drug, Norwegian scabies which is seen in people that are immunocompromised, etc.

Let me not go into the things that can cause the immune system to be compromised.

In simple terms, the most trusted and safest person to manage this case is a dermatologist, but if you want, you can waste your 25k.

I returned back to the Teaching hospital, but they kept charging me money after I bought a card and registered. I had to do a test instead.

Who am I to advice such person. Allow me to paraphrase proverbs 21 vs 20, "a fool and his money are soon parted!!!"

Go to pharmacy buy Dexamethasone, clorpheniramine, prednisolone, Amoxicillin B cham and ketaconasone cream.

Uses

Dexamethasone-- 11-11
Clorpheniramine --11-11
Prednisolone --11-11

Bet you after the drugs it may still not resolve because the bumps and itching there maybe a viral kind of infection,Herpes or even simply from a skin infection caused by using your boxers or underwears for long or under a moist environment(in this case it may accidentally resolve from the concoction of medications you got,not that the so called pharmacist was correct about you having staph).
Ask yourself this:if staph showed from the urine test,which indicates it must have passed through your blood and kidney then shows in the urine,why is it only your joystick that is affected and not your entire skin or other manifestations in your body?

You can still be itching for weeks after scabies treatment. Doesn't mean the treatment failed. You should have waited or repeat the treatment after 2 weeks.
I don't think you have any business with staph aureus. Probably contaminated the urine when you were collecting the sample. Did you show the 'eczema' at the hospital?

My Oga, with your description, what you have is scabies, follow the management plan of scabies that I've written up there sir, the itching will stop and it will go, but please make sure you wash all your clothes, everything, your bedshit, towel, boxers, singlet. Any clothing material you have(except for you curtain), please wash them. And lastly, try and spread you bed under the sun for at least 6 hours. Just give it time, it will go!!!
