BOSSkesh:Hey genius, how did you expect Niger republic would be able to kick out the west without Russia's help ? People like you don't think correctly. Without Russia, Niger would not be able to kick out the other nations and maintain them out of Niger. Russia has always been fair to Africa and one reason is that Russia has all the ressources which Africa has. Russia is more interested in making sure the west doesn't get to exploit Africa. Common interests, that is what brought Russia and African nations closer. 2 Likes 1 Share |

ruggedtimi: Lies. The US doesn't have Gold, Uranium and many other resources. Even their oil is in little quantity. Infact the US depends solely on Russia and others for Uranium supply. |

Obedience40: Dude, you suffer from schizophrenia, again, this is what you said: Obedience40: You don't understand the words you use and you suffer from memory loss and schizophrenia. There's something wrong with you. If I say "I defeated you with a left hook", does that mean that I am claiming that "I won the left hook" ? If one finds out that my left hook was very irrelevant and like Tyson was the one punishing you, does that not make me a liar ? |

darediamond: So you don't know what Zionism means? Most of you Muslims who argue do it from the pit of ignorance, No wonder even the Saudi Arabia that used islam and wahabism to erode your brains already left you people to build alliances with Israel but you with your belly on a dusty ground because of hunger is here foaming from the Mouth like an epileptic fibroid tissue that is having seizure. Dumb folks, if you believed satanic verses of the evil and meaningless book of quoran, I will never be surprised. |

Onyedikachi231:If you've studied Al-Jazeera English then you will notice that their journalists are mostly former bbc, CNN or MSNBC journalists, all westerners. They have a very pro-western bias when it comes to west vs Russia. |

tishbite42:That's not what I implied. I only referred to SOME uninformed young folks (and we see them relentlessly posting hate speeches and misleading info on NL and other online platforms) born within the decades that I indicated. My youngest brother who is the last born among my siblings was born in 1983 and he has a PhD. There are historical events that happened just before he was born and after he was born that he cannot easily recall, so, I have to explain things to him in details whenever we're having a conversation. So, there are very brilliant folks born within those decades as well, ONLY that there are events that they NEVER fully witnessed or cannot recall because they were not yet born OR were little kids back in the day. Conversely, YouTube is readily available for anyone to gain access to audio and visual images of historical events that occured right up to a little over 100 years ago. In any event, I absolutely AGREE with your summations about the roles that the Cubans (under Fidel Castro), the Soviet Union (USSR), and China played in arming some communist-inclined African renegades (such as SWAPO and other Southern Africa groups) looking to liberate their countries back in the day (in especially the 1970s to the 1980s in the countries you listed). I still have well kept old magazines from the 1970s and 1980s right in my home library detailing the armed struggles of these Southern Africa groups such as in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) against White discriminatory rule. Even during the exactly 2 years and 6 months Nigerian Civil War of July 1967 to January 1970, the Soviet Union (USSR) sold up to 17 MiG-17 jet fighters, other Soviet aircraft and several Soviet personnel were sent to train the Nigerian Air Force pilots to counter the rebel secessionists in the Old Eastern Region. Of course, they got favored in the now moribund Ajaokuta Steel Mill project which was geared as of the 1970s to be the biggest of it's kind in the whole of Africa. I appreciate your feedback here. Have a great week ahead. |

Jovi10:@Jovi10, Well, let's see how things pan out. Your assertions might actually turn out to be near-accurate down the road. Just as I stated in my other post on this thread, self-interest, ego and the subtle and sometimes overt application of "soft power" are the motivations for the Western world, Russia, and China. For instance, the Russians are concerned about the natural gas pipeline construction linking Nigeria to Europe through Niger Republic and Algeria. If it succeeds, it'll take away a significant chunk of the market for Russian natural gas supplies to the rest of Europe. The renewed interest of Russia in Niger Republic could trigger undercover attempts to sabotage that gas pipeline. Africans must take the lead and be CLEARLY intentional in resolving their issues and not keep hiding behind one White man after the other. The Asian Tigers have liberated themselves from neocolonialism and they are better for it today in terms of military strenght, education and economic power. Have a great week ahead. |
