It beats my imagination why a particular people can just exist for the sole aim of beating their dry chests to make them feel better, even when hunger is removing their wrapper from their waist.

Lagos is not better than any state in Nigeria, no better roads, no better electricity, no better business climate, no better quality of living or security, but some people exist in this world by hyping the city, even to the point of telling bare faced lies to make them sleep better at night.

Online, everyone who is from there who are ashamed of their states will claim Lagos, because of the online hype, the lies and the vain attempts to rub it in everyone's face that the place is better.

The commissioner did what every other person from there does, BOAST ON EMPTY STOMACH.
Then live Lagos alone and face your state. Nah by force?

To be fair, while this rebuttal is listing names of other countries with GDP higher than Lagos, they forgot that Lagos is just a state not country.

I love Nigerians from all tribes. However, I don’t know why people from the south west boast too much when they have little or nothing. The Lagos they always claim was built with oil money from the Niger-Delta. If they are really successful as they claim on this forum why is that they cannot point to any other state in their region that is working.

Again you miss the point. The commissioner lied. That's a big deal. We don't need dishonest criminals as commissioners.

The potential is there actually in Lagos considering it's proximity to the sea, airport and status of being the former capital. If any other state in Nigeria possess these features, that is how everyone will be talking about the state. But Nigeria as a whole is not doing well economically. How much will be your salary in Lagos and how much will transport take. It is not a planned state. So crowded and there is lack of order. Though current government is trying to fix that. If the gdp of Lagos is converted to dollars and divided by the population there, you will keep quiet. I think governors of akwaibom, Calabar, bayelsa and delta have failed over the years to develope these states and decongest Lagos.

How much GDP has Lagos grown since the FIF abi Fiji did their last report.

Egypt and South Africa are not doing economically well at the moment

Still, Lagos cannot surpass any of the top three African cities (Johannesburg, Cape Town and Cairo) any time soon. The gap is wide.

How could anyone say Lagos is the 7th biggest economy in Africa?

I laughed so hard when I read that report from Lagos State govt.

Lagos is a great city but I will dare say highly mismanaged if we are looking at international standards and how great/mega cities are run.
