LAGOS REASSURES RESIDENTS OF SAFETY

The Statewide exercise to free Lagos of visible security risks has continued after the arrest of some suspects under the Dolphin Estate bridge.

The ceaseless influx of miscreants, beggars, and the destitute onto Lagos streets has raised fears of insecurity of lives and property. This is unacceptable.

As part of the exercise, 450 miscreants were at the weekend rescued. Of the lot, 371 pleaded for assistance to relocate to their various states due to the hardship they are facing in Lagos; 79 have been absorbed into some government facilities for rehabilitation after showing signs of being unwell.

The exercise will continue as part of the government’s responsibility to keep our citizens safe and secure.

Gbenga Omotoso
Honourable Commissioner, Information & Strategy

SE governors needs to pay some compensation to SW governors, it's not been easy carrying extra burden of people flooding in every other night bus. How do SW governors manage the monthly allocations admist such a huge population while SE governors sit back and relax.

I'm with LASG on this.
Lagos isn't a dumping ground, if you don't have anything meaningful to contribute to the peace and development of the state, stay back in your respective states and hold your Governors accountable.

Do you have sense at all. No nation no town no Village, no state will ever develop without strangers. Lagos is very lucky to have located strategically that made visitors to rush there and help develop Lagos. How many Yoruba persons get property in Lagos

So lagos state govt expects us to believe that people are paying 250k to live under bridge. Why not tell us who is the landlord collecting the rent. Also person that pays 250k is telling you he is stranded and need help to return to his syate

Yeah. The story get comma. Anyone that can afford to pay 250k to live under a bridge can surely afford a 10,000 transport fare.

Lagos is over hyped. If you have lived in other states like jos and even Kaduna, you'll know that Lagos and it's residents struggle for the most basic of things that northeners and other people enjoy seamlessly.

Asking people to go back to their states contravenes the constitution of Nigeria which grants nigerians to live anywhere in Nigeria.

APC folks are just as stupid as their leader. If not more stupid.

I'm happy that Peter Obi has now become a standard. That shows that he's now a leader of those that are supposedly leaders. Even the foolish puppet of a governor.

Now, Peter Obi sent back beggers whose families are in their states.

These people that were sent back by the LASG were people paying as high as 250000 rent and contributing economically to the State. Even earning legitimately.

Don't quote me again . Descending to educate APC Urchins is not something that's mentally healthy.

Safety is of the Lord..

Be Careful..
Run as fast as you can from anything called Insurance Company in Nigeria. They are all Scammers..They don't pay claims.

Example..IGI INSURANCE COMPANY

You should be worry for your people, if LASG is starting this exercise with SW indigenes, then you should know that they are coming harder for those who are coming with night buses with polythene bags.

PS: This news also confirms that they actually took people in busses to their states. Complete nonsense!

You don’t see the folly in your statement. Lol. You literally compared a small part of a state to a whole state. Jos is one part of Plateau, same with the Kaduna city you mentioned.

Kindly be honest with yourself and compare Plateau state with Lagos or compare Jos with Ikeja.
