Moi- moi is great, and there has been a lot improvements.

Enugu ọkpa remains the best ọkpa so far, the journey that moi- moi has been through ọkpa is yet to start.

If both are cooked using the basic ingredients (palm oil, pepper, Maggi seasoning, salt and crayfish) ọkpa wins. But the upgrades that moi- moi has experienced makes it more sumptuous.

I think Enugu folks should find a way to make ọkpa more interesting for non-Igbo folks.

I've heard people say this several times, must Okpa be prepared by the Enugu women for we to get the best prepared okpa?

The Okpa I've eaten here in Rivers State is just average (the taste).
I choose Moi-moi over Okpa.

Everyone has their preferences, a common issue with most who sell okpa is they keep it till next day and for me if its not fresh I'm not buying

I had a conversation with my platoon leader on the Okpa vs Moin-moin talk. He's team Okpa while I'm team moin-moin, it's more of what our individual taste buds are accustomed to. Also, whether I prefer Okpa to moin-moin or vice has no effect on the nutritional value sha. Okpa might even be more nutritious than moin-moin, but then it didn't resonate with my taste buds hence my decision to stick to moin-moin.

I say enugu okpa, ikom okpa , if it's not done properly by an igbo woman I don't eat it,

Okpa is wonderful and yeah compared to moi moi I love it.

But nit everyone can prepare okpa or is qualified to.
Anyone who says it's bland has not had the opportunity to eat enugu okpa,

When I first ate okpa in CBQ it was the last time

That means okpa isn't good and delicious all the same.
Moimoi even if prepared by a clown will still have a unique taste sofar U add necessary condiments.
Why must okpa be domiciled only to Enugu people and u all claimed it's better and sweeter than moimoi that is prepared everywhere?

I love both moi moi and okpa. I can prepare moi moi excellently but not okpa. They are both nutritious but Bambara nuts from which okpa is made is a more superior protein health wise.

Okpa coming entirely from bambara nut protein has bioactive properties that can help prevent or treat chronic diseases, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Bambara nut protein can be hydrolyzed by enzymes to produce peptides that have antioxidant, antihypertensive and anti-inflammatory activities and much more

Overall moi moi and Okpa no be mate if healthiness is considered.

Okpa is traditionally Igbo food and only the igbos make it well

For all the other tribes trying their best to make money off it. They never get it right.

I don't eat okpa in Lagos fir this same reason. Only in the east. Real okpa is wrapped in banana leaves

Of course, same way most people that have been eating okpa before eating moin-moin, if they have even eaten it before, will testify that okpa is superior to moin-moin. We all have what our taste buds are accustomed to.

By the time I started frequenting Enugu and tasted the real goodness of okpa, I don’t eat okpa anywhere if not in Enugu state.

There’s tastiness in that blandness…

It actually tasted bland in my mouth the only time I tried to eat it o. A friend of mine got me hyped up before I came to Enugu, it was literally top of the food I wanted to try then. Was tongue wasn't accustomed to it, hence the bland taste I observed. Somebody has already gave an allegedly valid argument on the nutritional superiority of okpa over moin-moin on this thread sef.

I first came across Okpa back in the 90s while on NYSC service at University of Nigeria, the students call it 6 to 6, because it holds the stomach well.

But I never developed any taste for it.
