Glithronix:

I started with rental, now the car belongs to me with no pinch. I bought it from the owner last year September @2m. I didn't announce it cos that's not my targeted car (03 big daddy), but had to buy it from the man cos I was ripe enough to be independent.
While some people were putting head inside traffic when the 3mb was on full lockdown, I was running my business lowkey and small-small, I didn't drive for the hustle for a single day.
I don't drive 6 days a week anymore, I drive Wednesday - Sunday. Sometimes, I drive only Friday - Sunday and put in more energy for these 3 days.
When I'm big enough, I won't be doing the e-hailing any longer, but for now, who am I when the legends I learned from are still raking in hundreds of thousands in a month?
It will be senseless of me to leave such hustle that gives me someone's salary in a week.
I dey mad?
Case closed.

Much respect, boss.

This life! So you finally own the car and you didn’t bring it to any of the cole’s of nairaland notice. Not ever Palmer Cole, Ashley Cole or J Cole. Anyways, congratulations!! It’s not easy, your nights at Chevron drive finally pave the way.

It's good to know we have very intelligent and wise dudes here.
I had to read and read some replies to really understand.

As you've given all these insights, you can do well to talk about the other businesses you do or your investments that gives you 'passive income', so some of us can learn from. I'm not talking about 9 to 5 nor land and I'm not talking about buying more cars on e-hailing.

Congratulations to you Glit. Do you care to share your other hustle?

Omoapena, I don't know you're this knowledgeable 😊
You fit share your other hustle asides e-hailing?

Here is it… I said this because presently I have 3 cars in my possession, I obviously can’t hop into the 3 at same time, who am I trying to impress? Ya! I collect in other to expend fleets, on getting to each and realizing one thing of the other need to be fix, battery getting bad inbetween. Smiles* if one truly wants to fly high? Lighten and do away from unnecessary baggage.

Baba, I am in my mid 40's now, which company would wanna employ someone of my age? Companies usually prefer younger people with energy and fresh brain. The ones in my age with experience are employed based on referrals and connections.

Moreover, there are no jobs in Nigeria. The little ones left are for those with connection. I don't have any connection. So 9 to 5 is out of the way for me!

In PH where I live, if you can get your location right and have constant supply of cash, POS is a cashcow.

The good thing is, you can open as many as possible.

And for those who don't mind little, Tbills is around 20% pa. Can go as high as 25% if you don't collect interest upfront.

I'm not doing badly coz I don't rely on ehailing alone, pearl isn't doing badly as well cox he didn't rely on ehailing alone.

What I'm saying is, if you rely solely on this job and you're a family person, you will be stuck on the job for a very long time and you won't be able to achieve something tangible...

Building a house isn't an achievement to me, unless you have a passive income that requires no or little supervision from you, but if you don't have passive income and you rushed to use your active income to build a house, then you have made a financial blunder...

Like I said earlier, it will take the grace of God for someone who's a family man to leave ehailing once you're in, but as a single person who's focus and ambitious, you can save for a cause through ehailing and leave it behind....

Wow this is an insight!!! Like you said if you rely on this job for too long, getting out becomes difficult! I have told my friends and also gave them some little options and advice on how to 'get out', they just couldn't!
To be honest, they are not begging o, they don't even ask me for money or anything but I just don't like the fact that nothing is really happening the way I honestly wished for them...and this applies to 99% of ehailing drivers I know, those who do it solely...it seems the one percent is on this thread..
Those that are using it to go on vacation in d Bahamas!!!!!
LWKMD, apologies I just roll comot for bed no vex...

Now we have people who are 20-25 asking passionately how dey can get into d Hussle...The other day, one was asking if he can defer his nysc to quickly make money on Uber; and another one felt if graduate are doing Uber for 5 years, maybe it's not even necessary to go to sch then!!! Suck to say some folks actually don’t know when to stop. Those you should be wary most of are people that gives you advice without a rope. Someone here was once looking for a car, today he is a car owner, at least he started out from somewhere.

They keep hitting on vacation and my question to them, let them help us with photos of them on the same vacation and as well what they earn monthly(date back to 2023 at least). The number of people they have helped into their so called white collar space since they have been putting ehailing drivers down.

Obviously not saying ehailing is the best thing after Jagaban, but come off the st*pid jokes and needless high horse. Nah here I see where person deh real take Panadol for another person headache. Stay on white collar, yet eyes no gree comot for black collar. They can’t even help their sibling to get the so called white collar job 😂

Crazy country where someone that can earn 700 plus in the midst of this sufferation is been put down to nothing and you wonder why our youths give into fraud. Omo nah to go start yahoo like this. My eyes don see shege 🤒

You guys should focus on the e-hailing aspect of my conversation and leave real estate and property acquisition convo alone, It's a topic for property section.

Everyone has their believes and ideologies about how they view life.

so like i always say,to each their own.

Simple.

This is a thread for e hailing and those seeking information concerning it. There are investment and property sections where other discussions can take place.

See how the thread sprang to life because it wasn't about discussions on ehailing, yet they are happy and jubilant that the thread isn't dead undecided

After today it goes back to status quo, till the next discussion about lands and 2nd - 4th streams of income grin

Githronics has always been here steady. If I was to bank on anybody making something of this hustle in a little time from this thread I'd surely have put my money on him. Him owning his vehicle by now is what I expected (to the shame of the troll who called him out stylishly) wink

Make una continue using this thread for purposes of which it wasn't intended for and jubilating of its still 'being alive' just to shut me up grin

The challenge with drivers who get stuck in ehailing is "they don't take time off".

Driving typically drains mental energy which is much needed in critical thinking and mapping out exit solutions.
Not every ehailing driver can be a fleet manager. ( reason why not every musical artiste can float a record label) .One needs a specialised skillset to handle cars and rental drivers wahala.

And with the current cost of cars, the ROI on renting cars is not encouraging..

Some will ask why the time off, it's needed to make reflections and allow a flow of the idea stream.
But when drivers still do 6 full days in a week , that will never happen.
If you are strategic, what you earn in 6 days can be earned in 4 days.
giving you 2-3 FREE days /week to brainstorm.
