No groups of Nigerian voters know Tinubu better than Lagosians - there's a reason he lost in his supposed home state.
yes Christians wanted to wail on the Muslim-Muslim ticket say something new... at least it was a fair election.....meanwhile your own candidate got 95% votes in his state and we are all meant to believe he came by it with clean hands....knowing fully well no politician can get such approval ratings unless it was rigged in his favour.......

The cannibals from the south East are very bitter and hurt because the road will not benefit their region as with the south south and south west. Wait till they announce the commencement of the Greenfield Lagos to Abuja super highway before the end of the year, and you will cry even more till your eyes bleed. 😂😂😂

A road proposed many decades ago is still not a priority?

And the stupid reason is because some existing roads need repairs that are actually ongoing by different contractors?

When did governance become single-tasking?

Every right thinking patriotic citizen won't support this project riddled with corruption, only agbado miscreants do. Btw the world bank benchmark for construction of 1km of road is less than 250 million naira yet the govt would be spending 4 billion per km.

Racoon:
Meanwhile; -The Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Highway only scaled through the first phase of reconstruction under the last administration.

-The Abuja-Lokoja Highway has not been completed. With its huge land mass, the northern region has more of such decrepit road infrastructure.

-The East-West Road, a coastal road network in the South-South has been a work in progress through four administrations since 2005. The Calabar-Oron end and final stretch has not been touched.

-A failed section of the road in Eleme, Rivers State, precipitated a fuel tanker fire late last month that burnt 120 vehicles and killed five persons.

-The Calabar-Ituh Road, Ningi’s committee spent six hours on a journey, which ordinarily should take one hour; and the senator decried: “I have never seen and experienced what we saw on that road anywhere. Thousands of trucks stuck in traffic with little or no motion.”

-The Benin Sapele Highway and Benin-Auchi-Okene-Lokoja Road remain a nightmare for motorists, who perennially block them in protest.

-The Benin-Sagamu Expressway rehabilitation, started by the Jonathan administration, is still unfinished work.

-The Lagos-Badagry-Seme Highway, whose Lagos end will increase from four to 10 lanes, is begging for completion.

-In the South-East, reconstruction work on the Enugu-Port Harcourt Highway stopped at the Aba end, due to the lack of funds, as the Buhari presidency wound up.

-The dual carriage work on the Owerri–Aba road has been suspended.

Why were these projects not executed under the PDP administration?

as usual defending corruption, Nigeria is well known for inflating budget, the report was specifically tailored for Nigeria and African nations and every economic factor was noted before the data was released, and even if cost differ due to certain circumstances there is no way it could justify almost 20 times the expected cost, by your thinking you don't see any difference between 250 million and 4billion for the same job. Shame.

The North isn't complaining? I guess Atiku is from Anambra. Everything is all about tribalism and ethnicism to you lots. There's a report on Punch newspaper this morning on how this coastal road is a threat to some submarine cables supplying broadband internet connection to Nigeria https://punchng.com/lagos-calabar-highway-telcos-fear-shutdown-as-construction-threatens-cables/
The other day it was DSTV saying that the rushed construction is going to affect its facility. You're starting such an expensive, humongous and far reaching project without an environmental impact assessment. Everything is just shrouded in secrecy and reeks of cronyism, and you still have the guts to gaslight people
Christistruth00:
They are very Selfish people

They saw Buhari building Railway for his People even to Niger using the Niger Delta Resources

It is now time that FG was to throw the Niger Delta small rope by building them a Coastal Highway they are now very disgracefully protesting

Mind you the North is not Complaining

Why didn't they stop Buhari from Building the 2nd Niger Bridge then
So they could help FG save money?

when did rail project turn to road project? Can you not read or understanding is your problem? And when did investment turn to loan? If I invest in a project and work out how I will be getting my returns from train ticket sales over the years that means I have giving out a loan? This is one of the #30k ebinpawa criminals. Inspite of your inability to think, you still will not leave your family house building uncompleted and initiate the construction of a separate mansion, especially when you're so indebted that you can hardly eat. And the said mansion will take an eon to complete. This is an allegory and I'm sure you can't decipher it.
I'm sure you couldn't even decipher the vocabulary "Allegory" before using it - you waste of air.

Again, it is a good project, but not a priority at this tight times.

There are already existing roads in need of repair at the fraction of the cost of the estimated cost of that coastal road that would serve an even more urgent purpose than the coastal road.

When this turns out to be the shambles it would eventually become, some clowns would turn on Umahi and his tribe and conveniently excuse the person on whose table the buck stops.
You just gave a perfect explanation to this epistle

Don't deflect from the matter at hand. If you behave like Tinubu your own family will repudiate you. But you've sold your intellect coz of #30k. In any case that you do not understand the connotations of the word "allegory" doesn't nullify the message conveyed.

The news says "Rail line". Does rail line mean road Has your sentiment also blinded you? What is investment? Does the investment mean donation or charity? And why is the government advised to revive the investment?

A 2-year-old baby has a higher IQ than your village drunkard idiotic father and mother at the Aba baby factory where you came from.
Ode, ole. The project will be completed then you will stop crying and wailing.
When Buhari started the 2nd Niger bridge, were all potholes fixed before he started?
When your Agulu warlord invested 30 million dollars of Anambra money into Hero Beer, were all roads in Anambra already fixed, was all the schools fixed? Wasn't erosion still a major problem?
Your problem is that the project will have Tinubu's name stamped on it for life, it will also connect the SS to the SW while excluding your evil jungle.
You go wail and cry tire. Your cacophony is irrelevant and inconsequential in the scheme of things. Kontinu.
Didirin. So I am automatically Ibo because I am against your BARAWO leader. Now because Obi and Buhari did not fix the roads every President should brainlessly follow suit even if fixing those roads will be to the betterment of the citizens and the Country's economy? You are daft and I won't waste time with an empty head and OLE AJIBOLE like you. I ask again will the Project be completed with your father's money? Oloribu omo.
Re: 6 Strange Things About The Calabar-lagos Coastal Highway by Gboom: 1:12pm On May 06, 2024
2. The original coastal road as the people were told during the construction of the Lekki expressway/toll gates, was the Water Corporation road. Nigerians were told it was going to be an alternative route to the tolled road. Today, a large expanse of that road has been abandoned and is virtually an eyesore. But, we have chosen to ignore it and instead start a brand new “Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway”. Why?

If they followed that plan, Landmark and other edifices around that route would be totally demolished

Ode, ole, atole, amukun meko. Shallow, zero IQ cretins like this fool here is one of the reasons why Nigeria is backward. You are so shallow that you cannot see beyond your nose. You are either brainwashed or just born with a very low reasoning capacity.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense and not influenced by tribal or other factors will automatically see the benefits of such projects.
It's so easy and glaring to see that you have to be one of the dumbest fools not to comprehend the potential economic gains of such a project.

Let me educate you a little bit. Here in the US, we have many problems such as homelessness, crimes, people needing food stamps to eat, and many other problems. Does that stop the US govt from investing in new weapons, new capital projects, give out aid to other countries? No, it does not because while trying to solve those problems, you still have to invest in opportunities that will bring greater rewards in the future. The problem is that olodo monkeys like you are too dumb to reason outside of your closed narrative.
For your empty skull, countries borrow money to build such projects for many reasons. first, it is a trusted and tried method of jumpstarting a slow economy because once you pour money into such a project, it will act as a catalyst to propel the economy via multiplying effects.

Secondly, this project will open up so many areas that are now lying wasted such as untouched beaches in other areas apart from Lagos that are not even being used right now. It will bring in investments into those areas such world world-class hotels, restaurants, and manufacturing due to easy access to transportation, and many more.
The problem with losers like you is that you have been brainwashed and blinded by other factors hence you are incapable of seeing the benefits even if they landed on your nose.
I'm sure that you are either Igbo who understands Yoruba very well (I know some born in Lagos) or one of those "Yoruba but" blind omo ales.
If this project had been proposed by Obi, losers like you would be calling it the brightest thing thought of since sliced bread.

I just wasted my precious time responding to this fool who more than likely can't even comprehend half of what i have written here.

First, you obviously lack emotional intelligence. That's how you seem to me. Second, comparing the United States, a first world economic superpower, with a lowly economically endowed Third World country like Nigeria shows that you may have overstayed your welcome wherever you reside. You need to return and swallow a dose of reality in Nigeria. I am a diaspora Nigerian myself, but that does not blind me to the realities of our lives in this country, what that portends and what needs to happen.

What is the point of your coastal highway if people cannot afford the most basic ingredients of life? Do you know that most places in Nigeria do not have potable water, including Lagos?

What good is a coastal superhighway when 90 percent of Nigeria's internal roads are death traps that daily kill Nigerians by the dozens?. You see, it is not enough to pound the keyboard and blow grammar, perhaps in an attempt to intimidate the less cerebral or grammatically gifted, because we support or are given to the propagation of a certain cause.

You have to think critically to understand the presence or absence of a value chain in a project. When we critically subject this project to a use case analysis, what result can we come to?. What should we prioritize, a shiny highway that ultimately benefits only the bottom line of its promoters, or a systematic deployment of resources that benefits us all and acts as a catalyst for growth?.

Assuming but not conceding that this project is seen through by this government, and having regards to our maintenance culture in Nigeria, where do you see this investment 10–15 years after inauguration in terms of state and yield?.

The United States pays unemployment benefits known as welfare to its citizens and residents. What about Nigeria?. Why have you not drawn this parallel as well?.

You strike me as a youth, so am I, but God forbid that the generational change we seek in this country falls on people who think like you.

I expect your insult.
