Paraman: Don't get it twisted. We are asking APC to return the exchange rate to where it was simply because they used it to campaign against the PDP.

Hmmm.. okay ooo. While I must admit the electricity has improved tremendously, the price is very high and suffocating. My home is on band A so I have tried to discipline myself to only switch on essential electrical appliances and to switch them off when not in use.. |

Racoon: Because, sad to say, and God knows I hate to say this, most Nigerians don't want to pay for 24 hours power supply, which would in turn enable the NESI give power supply 24/7 to everyone. SO, the stratification, which is created in collaboration with governments past and present (for now, forget politics, the current pricing regime was brought about by pdp, and kept in place by apc)....happens. The real reason is, as I have said, most NIgerians do not want to pay market price...so your government has evolved a system where by the rich and the manufacturers pay more for power than the poor. The ideal is that everyone pays cost reflective tarrif, and the profits are invested in power supply improvement (and in attracting more investment). But most of us can't see the benefits of removal of subsidy. |
Re: FG Approves Downward Review Of Tariff For Band A Electricity Consumers by nairalanda1(m): 1:33pm On May 06 |
Inspirer1: Power has been privatised since 2013, so it is in the hands of the private sector to give power. But because most of you are not ready to pay cost reflective tarrif, since 2013, government has forced the NESI to charge a tarrif that is way below the cost reflective tarrif, and to introduce the system of stratification. Had the NESI been allowed to charge a cost reflective tarrif, by now everyone would have had at least 20 hours of power...because the thing would be profitable enough to pay for improvements. Subsides never work for Nigeria. See we don't subsidise food or telephony...and they all work well. |

Re: FG Approves Downward Review Of Tariff For Band A Electricity Consumers by nairalanda1(m): 1:34pm On May 06 |
Bobloco: True, and we would like PDP to take over from APC, along with LP, and restore the exchange rate to 90 to the dollar as it was in 1999. Seriously, you and the APC people, naira has never been strong. You want N1-$1...vote for a government that would make us be an exporter of manufactured goods and servicies. Not apc vs pdp all the time. And not tinubu again either. |

Paraman: If I were you, I could have kept quiet and gained my integrity.....but when I looked far , I noticed your principle lacks integrity, so who born you to have one.... Pls shut up and hide yourself in shame abeg .. #25 - #216 = #191 naira difference ( in 16 years of PDP government... #216- #1400 = #1184 naira difference ( in 9 years of APC Government... Soon you will tell me it will still come down as if anything that goes up in Nigeria has ever come down... I will slap you from here ooh.... 1 Like |

Calling Igbos here shows that you are quite dense and asinine. You're not more than a charlatan and a neanderthal. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president, who spoke out against the same highway some days back is also an Igbo man, right? Try to engage your sense before attempting to speak in a public forum. Wickedfacts: |
