Evidence or not if they are realeased, they would come after the person who made the report.

You are not as invisible as you think.... undecided
It is somebody from the same PF that will inform the suspect of how they got the information.🙂

You have dual obligations of your personal safety/protection and crime reporting. However, your personal safety comes first. So, you really need to do the 2nd obligation diligently - be anonymous and discreet about it.

Hello Everyone ,

There are Some Guys ,I Suspect to be Armed Robbers in my area , Honestly, I want to Report them but I'm been Careful,I don't want to call the Police with my Number .

About 9 years ago ,An Incident Happened in the Area we lived Before ,There was an Armed Robber suspect that was Reported ,the guy was picked up ,the police Ransacked his house they found a Gun ,To cut long story Short ,The Guy was Released after some Months ,The Guy with His Group came for the Reporter ,Robbed Him and Injured him ,He Lost His Legs. He was lucky they almost Killed Him ...

We later found out that it was one of the Police that Pointed the reporter ,The Armed Robber and Police belongs to Same Cult Group .

This is the Reason I'm been Careful ,I want to report these guys but because they Pose a Threats to us in this Community.

I have number of some Police Officers ,I have not called them before so they won't Recognize my voice .

Will they Entertain my Call if not

Does Anyone Knows how I can Report a Suspect Anonymously?

Why not just buy a new sim that is pre registered.

Call and report.
Then dump the sim.

That's the safest.

Meanwhile be careful to use a torchlight phone that u won't need again.
Do you want to implicate an innocent person?
Don't you know all preregistered sim cards are been registered with someone NIN,
without the the NIN owner knowing.
As you go to register you sim, the agents that registered you uses your NIN secretly to register other sim cards as preregistered alnd sell to anybody that needs it.

Those guys have gone pass that stage.
Besides if he has a licence that allows him me such sims nko. He will just say he sold the sim to whoever. It's his work. And usually they use their NIN.
Av used and dumped pre registered sims after re activating my sim that got lost.

Write a letter containing what you would have said on the phone. Duplicate it into about four or more, envelope them and place two in each police station of your interest. At least one of the stations will act on the information.

To place them, factor out what time and period of the day the police station will be deserted somehow and place the two distance apart so that at least one of them may be found by someone in the police station.

Just address as anonymous and state that you are doing it for the common good of your community and as a way of also supporting the security work of the noble Nigerian police.

Be careful in Nigeria the suspect are 'protected' by the police while the reporters are haunted

Learn from Fisayo Soyombo case Vs Dende

Now police is man haunting reporter Soyombo while Dende is recieving VIP and celebrities greetings

After Fisayo's saga, I have nothing but to conclude that investigative journalism is a wasted effort in the present time of this country. Can you imagine that IBD Dende, the alleged culprit is walking freely while an innocent person is remanded behind bar? What an irony of a country!

Go and meet the DPO and report to the DPO of the Station and tell him you want to be anonymous as you do not want his men to know that you are the one that reported. He'll do that, and protect you. Its those useless other ranks that are a problem in the Police. Most of them eat and drink with those criminals.

Police Twitter handle is the best option. I prefer you send a DM, instead of dropping a post and tagging the police. Remember bandits and armed robbers operate accounts on social media, and dropping a post can leak info to them before the police get there.

Twitter is not so anonymous though.
People get picked off twitter too.

The guy should use a VPN when making this report too.

I have a phone number that has absolutely nothing to do with my name or identity, and an email address that is same. That was the number I used to call Police Headquarters in Abuja the day I saw a group of guys lynching one thief at a point of death. I wasn't in support of the thief, but I was seriously against jungle justice.

As soon as Police arrived in their van, I quickly left the scene, make them no come call the number and it rings, and then take me to the station to write report.

The second case was when one riff raff wanted to exhort money from people in the neighbourhood for an almost-collapsed electric pole. I sent an anonymous mail to NERC, Abuja and within a week, a new electric pole was erected.

You can try the above methods, or Pseudo X like someone suggested above.

how did you get the number?

Bruh. I don't know how secure an anonymous number is. Even tagging them on social media is not safe as they can track your IP. I suggest you use the TOR browser when making a report on social media. Or even use a VPN. Tor is safer sha.

If you're really suspicious and don't want them to be able to trace you at all. Use Tails OS.

will TOR protect the IP address?
