Chukwuka319:
The snake is a Gaboon viper.
The Gaboon viper is the world's largest viper among all 200 species of viper, and is the world's largest venomous snake, followed by the King cobra, Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake and Bushmaster viper.
It possesses the longest fangs of any snake on earth, with fangs reaching a length of 2 inches.
This huge viper also possesses the greatest volume of venom of any snake in one bite, courtesy of the massive venom glands.
Like nearly all other vipers, its venom is haemotoxic, attacking the blood and blood vessels and can bring death within hours.
All this ones go just go internet go do copy and paste.

You guys are playing with death when you are supposed to have cut and bury the head or hand it over to those that need it. Even in death it is dangerous to play with the head anyhow.

No sir, the white patches at the back indicates the numbers of year it has spent and this has 11 matured patches.
That’s a gaboon viper. It has the longest known fang in the snake kingdom. It delivers a very deep bite with haemotoxins that break down your blood vessels. It killed a farmer in the outskirts of Umuahia a few years ago. He was taken to a native doctor and was given treatments that were ineffective until his window for survival was closed and they now rushed him to FMC to perform magic….ignorance killed him.

In Igbo it’s called “echi eteka” meaning tomorrow is too far because you can never reach tomorrow after bitten by this snake
It’s always said that it counts before striking and they have the longest fangs in all snakes

I am so much fascinated by Snakes, please does anybody know where I can learn to be a Snake handler?

Gaboon vipers generally stay out of contact with humans. They are very secretive but once in a while they come in contact with us..that big head houses a very potent cocktail of venom and the means to deliver it deep inside your tissue.

This is an 11 years old viper killed on the farm by a group of casual worker, they initially wanted to keep the trophy but upon letting me know, I gave them an additional 2k.

So, does it mean it came with one patch when it was hatched , given your explanation?
Re: We Killed A Very Dangerous Viper Snake In The Farm. by Fujiyama: 8:03pm On May 06, 2024
Your video shows a young man placing the dead viper (with its head still intact) around his neck. undecided

That young man is dicing with death. He obviously doesn't know.

The bite reflex in some snakes is still active long after 'death' has occurred. There is a reason why so many Nigerian languages have proverbs about making sure the head of a snake should be cut off after it has been killed.

One mistake (just a slight grazing of that boy's flesh by any of those fangs) and you could very well have a fatality within 60 minutes.

Educate your farmhands/labourers ASAP. I am surprised they didn't know this already.

They knew but utterly stupid, you can see I can't move closer hence the reason why some shot are off focus but when you tell them things like this, they think one is not smart.
