So you can cut yam and buy however many kilos your portion weighs

Even those that use weight wont allow you cut yam in half o. There's this farm fresh food in my area, you buy pepper and the likes in kilo. I have bought yam and sweet potato from them. Any yam you take if its beyond a kilo or less, they will just arbitrarily calculate the difference, nothing like cutting it to size.
