Wake up every morning to more afflictions from oppressors.

Why put any levy on the enactment of cybercrime act?
Is this how they do it in other countries?
They should as well put levies for other acts.

This is just the height of impunity and stupidity.

They keep throwing all this policies and fraudulent means to forcefully take money from us,still making us suffer,

This won't sit well with me!!

Tinubu is just out for blood,

Suck poor nigerians through every means possible,

I don't care if the policy was before his administration,

He should not be the one to implement this rubbish.
A times I wonder how can a man be so hard hearted. There is no iota of empathy in him. Despite the hardship & sufferings Nigerians are going through, this man still have the mind to continue heaping taxes on Nigerians. This was the reason they started attacking digital banks recently, because these kind of illegal charges are easier with commercial banks.

This govt doesn't give a shit. They can get away with anything. APC and Tinubu in particular are demonic. They have succeeded in using propaganda and paid idiots online to divide us to a level that we can't even protest or demand for change. Watch how the paid clowns will swarm on this thread.

The irritating thing is that the clowns think the scraps from their masters' table will make them rich because one day they will get to that level - Newsflash! It will not happen. They are setting up their own flesh and blood to take over from them. Continue defending the very people that are making you poorer and poorer. This goes to all the posters insulting fellow Nigerians who have a right to be unhappy.

NB I await someone coming to say it is 2% in another country ..

To what end? Is that insurance fee against loss or looting charge? All it takes is 1 kobo on millions of bank users daily.

Bunch of criminals. Which one is the cybersecurity levy again? It is not the responsibility of the banks to invest heavily in cybersecurity and ensure that customers' data and transactions are secure. Are we not paying transfer fees? Why cannot they deduct the expenses from their monthly profit to handle this? A lot of companies in other countries invest heavily in cybersecurity and they pay from their profit because it's one of the core responsibilities of any reasonable business that runs on the internet. Very soon, these mad people will start charging us fees to pay their customers.

JPMorgan Chase bank spends $15 billion every year on cybersecurity, and they have over 62,000 employees in charge of cybersecurity.

What's this nonsense again?

This nonsense was also passed by your representative and senator. Hold them accountable.

Following the enactment of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) (amendment) Act 2024 and under the provision of Section 44 (2)(a) of the Act, a levy of 0.5 per cent (0.005) equivalent to a half per cent of all electronic transactions value by the business specified in the Second Schedule of the Act, is to be remitted to the National Cybersecurity Fund which shall be administered by the Office of the National Security Adviser.

Yes nah, they are immune to all these charges to expand the net of taxes and taxpayers for squeezing money from the impoverished masses as you would squeeze water from a rock, and choke life out of the extreme poverty wailing wailers rationing half corns and sliced raw yam tubers on sale.

And one does not see what the money is used for o

So, the tale about lower taxes as the reason to enjoy Nigeria compared to the abroad is null and void.
