DeLaRue:if they want to charge them in court, then they should do that instead of just holding them in custody and expecting a miracle to happen to the naira. |

Mynd44:American government didnt detain Binance executives - they had problems with Binance and sued Binance, not executives that only came to represent them. Nigerian firms too send their executives to other nations, do they get kidnapped and jailed there? It doesn't make any sense at all. If the country has a problem with Binance, sue Binance, not hold individuals on hostage because you have a problem with the company they work for. |

StOla:Leave emotions aside, bro. How is Binance affecting the Naira? Right now, Binance has halted all Naira transactions, so where is the Naira today? The problem lies in the BVN and non-cashless policy for dollars. Politicians are stealing dollars by inflating contracts, thereby draining the already scarce liquidity. If the FG/CBN makes dollars cashless, we'll see how these politicians will struggle to wheelbarrow bags of dollars to the bank for deposit. Instead, they're busy disgracing themselves, and people who don't understand how liquidity works are applauding them. Check P2P platforms, and you'll see that the dollar-naira exchange rate is around ₦1400. However, on platforms owned by the political class, like Eversend and Grey, they're selling dollars at ₦1550 and buying at ₦1330. Yet, our clueless president and his outdated CBN Governor can't see that these people are being exploited. Even YouTubers and others using monetization platforms face issues, as there's no direct conversion between dollars and Naira within banking apps. People risk their lives transacting with aboki instead of using regularized and secured escrow platforms. No be everything una dey applaud blindly. Wake up!!! |

yoniehuin:I hope that you can substantiate your very serious allegations. If you cannot I suggest you delete this for your own good. The fact that you did not name a ruling party member will not save you as you have brought the entire house and indeed the entire country into public disrepute. If this person will not act responsibly, then the moderators must fulfil their own responsibility for the greater good. mynd44 |

codwyha:look at what a Nigerian is saying . you taught u have said something reasonable but no. The chief executives that wanted to cripple Nigeria economy with some Nigerians should be arrested and detained . Can a Nigerian do such in their own country ? We went for an enforcement in ebonyi one day to seal a Lebanese company (quarry ) that refuse to obey environmental laws, the company has been constituting all manners of environmental laws to the society with a lot of complain from the community. When we got there ,the man refuse to come out of his office and we locked him Inside . After sometimes he instructed his staff to pay for environmental fines and the seal and chain was remove . we asked him if his country can allow such a thing to happen in his country and he said no. |

StOla:The American case with Binance founder is different, if you dont know the story just keep quiet, CZ himself pleaded guilty to all allegations and accepted responsibility for his actions and sought settlement with US with a personal settlement with the US DOJ and a corporate fine the first of its kind in US history. But in the Nigerian case, there is still no convict the executives, in fact you cannot detain middle executives of a corporate entity in order to iron out disputes. It actually sent out a wrong signal to the investors community. |

Macdeey:4 months in prison ![]() You actually believe he was truly convicted for fraud or whatever, yet got 4 months? Is 4 months the punishment for money laundering and fraud in the US? There was no case against him but not to embarrass the government, they decided to cook up something to save face. Do you know what happened to FTX owner? He got 25yrs for cryptocurrency fraud https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2024/05/05/inside-the-final-prison-verdict-on-an-epic-crypto-ceo-rivalry.html. 4 months in prison ![]() |
