this is a foolish question especially when the cause is known.

Naira was deliberately killed (devalued) by Tinubu after floating the naira. So nothing can be done until he decides to stop his stupid financial policies.

Increase local production. We import everything.
Encourage the sales of local goods. We import everything from tomato paste to furnitures.
Remove all the double and triple taxation on our local biz.
Provide better security to Protect our farmers.
I can go on. But these are nothing that others haven't said before. So what's the point?

What I think Nigerian Government should do is to mandate all banks to start processing foreign transaction in naira ,then pay the equivalent to the receiver in receivers currency.

This will reduce the rush for physical dollar and people will no longer go to BDC to buy dollar since they know that their banks will serve them, this will reduce the pressure on naira too.

Be it school fees , payment of goods and services, let the bank deduct the equivalent which must be at CBN rate from sender's naira account simple.

CBN will now deal with bank directly on any FX matter instead of selling to the General bidders.

This how it is done all over the world. You handle see them sourcing for foreign currency to pay for their transaction, the transaction is done and equivalent transfered to the receiver.

This might not solve all the problems but it's a good step in the right direction.

Wrong. The country is already in a state of hyperinflation. Before you move to production you must first bring inflation under control - trying to boost production while inflation is still high will only lead to higher inflation.

The correct steps to be taken are:

1. Combat inflation

2. Fix security, power and transport infrastructure

3. introduce monetary policies to stimulate access to capital and let the private sector do the rest

4. Introduce customs and excise policies to strangulate imports

Clearly the government is attempting to work through steps 1 nd 2 now with limited success. But we all know these things are much easier said than done.

I have said it before, am saying it now and will say it tomorrow. The permanent solution is to shut down DOM accounts. Dollar raising is not because of lack of production but due to FX SPECULATION.

Exchange rate is directly proportional to importation. Buy made in Nigeria goods, discourage importation and the demand for dollars will fall same to its exchange rate. be productive than imported goods so it's the direct responsibility of both the citizen and govt to make this happen. STOP YAHOO YAHOO /CRIME to shirt cut wealth and make yourself a responsible, law abiding and productive citizen

When you determine the actual people/businesses utilising the dollars, then you can begin to investigate how they use the dollars.

What one would find is that it is the same politicians that are using dollars for unproductive ventures.

Buying houses abroad
Medical tourism
Flying their wh*res abroad
Hoarding it for elections
Storing them in foreign banks
Etc.

Secondly, no sincerity or transparency on the part of government. Ot keeps lying and using propaganda. These create instability as users are not sure of what is going on and therefore panic or hold on to thier dollars to see what is going on.

Until the government squarely faces 'itself', the instability will continue.

encourage diaspora investment ......attract fdi or sell our crude or natural resources in Naira or any international goods bought must be bought in Naira i promise you it would jump back......People should only transact in naira only if they want to buy anything from Nigeria
