Gradually, Sharia criminal justice and punishment system being legalised in Nigeria.

Muhammadu Buhari who executed suspected drug traffickers when he was military head of state vowed in Kaduna in 2001 that he would not relent until Islamic sharia criminal justice system is used all over Nigeria.

One of the earliest demands of Alhaji Tanko Mohammed appointed Chief Justice of Nigeria by then president Buhari was for Islamic sharia criminal justice system be included in Nigeria's Constitution. He boasted then: after all, we have the numbers in the National Assembly to include sharia criminal justice system in the constitution. Sharia criminal justice system includes stoning blasphemous persons to death; stoning women to death for adultery, cutting out the hands of thieves, and other harsh punitive systems including this one like death for drug traffickers.
Unfortunately, Buhari handed over Nigeria to a man who returned money from drugs trafficking business to the US government.

when the people are protesting bad policies prisons are usually attacked to break out criminals, killers and rapists who are used to bring more chaos to the places that are protesting.

If they kill the criminals there won't be any reason to attack prisons and break out killers.
