To show you how powerful he is, the Edo state government has come out to deny they they dragged the Oba to court.

The Oba of Benin is not like the Emir of Sanusi that can be dethroned. He is not like the Yoruba obas that Obasanjo can call together and insult for not respecting him. He is not like the oba of Lagos that was pursued out of his palace during the end sars protest and his shoes worn by a tout. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

He is not like Yoruba obas that are yes men to sitting governors. The Oba can talk truth to a sitting governor and nothing will happen.

The Oba of Benin is not the result of scheming and favouritism. All first class Yoruba traditional rulers are appointed by a sitting governor. If you are not in the good books of a sitting governor, you can't be an alaafin of oyo or ooni of ife or oba of Lagos. But the Oba of Benin is the result of true monarchy. He is the representation of his forefathers and the next Oba of Benin will be his first son who will continue the heritage.
