From your analogy, one can infer that even you too have a shallow understanding of leadership. Firstly, any leader that deliberately sacrifices even a single one of his country man's life is not worthy of being called a 'leader'.

Secondly, leadership means integrity. To have integrity means to be virtuous, upright and steadfast. A quality that 90% of our so-called leaders lack. On the issue of subsidy, how on earth does a leader expect sacrifices from the citizens (most of whom are poor) without him sacrificing anything? Why must the citizens bear the brunt of subsidy removal whereas government officials still allocate bogus salaries to themselves?

If people like you keep making excuses for our useless leaders, they won't sit up and face governance. I've read several books and authobiograhies of many world leaders and I can categorically say that 'Nigerian leaders are not only incompetent but cruel'. If they don't burn in the deepest part of hell, then nobody deserves to be judged on 'Judgement Day'.

The issue is not the subsidy....the biggest mistake he made was accepting to devalue the currency. Now he can't go back. Take that away and he would have been fine with the removal of subsidy.

These Mad people told Asiwaju to remove Fuel Subsidy he obeyed,the country went into immeasurable hardship,if the President decides to allegedly reintroduce subsidy on a lower scale to stop the total decimation of the masses,why are these made neocolonialist complaining again.
I totally disbelieve this allegations of subsidy,and these are my reasons.
I say this with a reasonable level of factuality that as of Today,Dangote is selling a litre of Diesel for 850 naira, without any form of Subsidy.
I know people who are loading the product directly from the Refinery and he's selling at 850 naira.
For the sake of argument,let us agree he's selling at 900,I can say factually again if there's any level of Subsidy it should never be in the range of 5 billion Usd.
There's no way Nigeria should pay 5 billion Usd as subsidy this year unless The NNPCL wants to continue stealing all the oil revenue.
My advice to Asiwaju is to instruct the NNPCL to stop the payment of this dubious subsidy and funnel all the money on crude oil sales to the CBN,and instead of paying subsidies to European Refineries,the crude oil should be given to Dangote to Refine.
It doesn't make any sense,I repeat any sense for This country to extract crude oil and sell it overseas,then Use almost half of the proceeds to pay Subsidy.
It's the most foolish Economic principle I have seen in all my life, enough of this stupidity and merry go round stealing.
Asiwaju should man up and stop this Economic sabotage in the name of Subsidy.

In 2012, GEJ should have removed oil subsidies and invested in fixing the refineries, but GEJ was never a leader. The consequence is that Tinubu must now make that tough decision, but it also seems that Tinubu is less of a leader than GEJ. The consequence is being kicked down the road.

I will answer this reasonable question in two ways:

1. I understand that Nigeria is designed in way that before you make a lot of money in this country, one may soil his hands. Nigeria isn't designed to favour everyone or help the son or daughter of a nobody become somebody. If my means of making it to the top isn't so clean, I will remain a civilian and make impact the much I can without joining politics because personally I want to introduce a different type of leadership. Without politics, a billionaire can impact many lives and his local community.

2. On the other hand, if I know that I didn't do something that will indite me to make money, I will definitely join politics. I always say that the day I join politics, Nigeria will know that a crazy leader has emerged. The kind of sweeping reforms I will implement in 8 years will make Nigerians talk about me forever. I am infuriated that this country is not growing at the rate we should.

So, yes, I will start from guber election for my state and later take a shot at the presidency so that I can sell myself to the people with my track records. I'll be as vocal as Peter Obi - I will enlighten the sane ones among us to understand the challenges in leadership. However, this will come only after winning the election because opening up before election may paint me as an incompetent or weak person.

Thank you. But you make that no.2 look so easy, while forgetting separation of power.

Don't forget a tree can not make a forest in Nigeria's presidential system of democracy. Do you realise many of those in NA won't share your goals,and you have no power in stopping them from padding budgets? Remember the juicy packages and allowances they legislate for themselves. These are people that invested huge money to get a sit in that Assembly.

Are the governors going to buy into your reforms? What influence do you have to curb them from stealing allocations and make impactful governance in their respective states. Many months after increased monthly allocations they are yet to increase workers salaries,we are talking governors that crushed LG autonomy bill.

You have good intentions,but it won't fly with most of the elected politicians. If you don't compromise, I don't see how you will last 4years without impeachment
