Re: Official MMA Thread (UFC/PFL) by OneCandleAway(f): 9:43am On Apr 28 |
The just concluded fight week, it was a small event so I didn't really place much money to bet. From my research, Na was a weak candidate but there could always be an upset so I didn't put much money on her. Onama was also not projected to win but there can always be an upset. The major people I put more money on won.

UFC 301 PANTOJA vs ERCEG |
Re: Official MMA Thread (UFC/PFL) by chiboyo(m): 10:28am On Apr 28 |
OneCandleAway: My predictions as below Pantoja vs Erceg = Pantoja to win (Erceg is ranked about 10 and he is just being pushed, he is unlikely to win) Martinez vs Aldo = Martinez to win (Aldo is a very great fighter, but he is getting old now so the chances of winning is slim) Vitor Petrino vs Anthony Smith = This can go either way, Vitor us undefeated so far, but has not fought anyone very superb, Smith has an impressive resume, but getting old. My instincts however go with Vitor. Paul Craig vs Caio: Paul Craig can never be counted out in any fight due to his submission skills, but Caio is likely to win Ihor vs Michel Periera: Anyone can win this fight, but my instincts go with Michel perera |

@onecandleaway, what do you think of the prediction? |
Re: Official MMA Thread (UFC/PFL) by OneCandleAway(f): 2:18pm On May 01 |
chiboyo: Well based on comparison with other credible predictors, we believe there might be an upset. Meaning someone everyone thinks will win will lose and this onset is between: Costa vs Borjas : people pick Costa but some think Borja might be the one that will eventually win Pantoja vs Erceg : Everyone favours Pantoja but some think Erceg might just win somehow and be the upset. Then the others: Pereira vs Pereire Winner : Pereira Brito vs shore Winner Brito Brener vs oralbay Winner Oralbay (he is from krygistan and they are like the dagistan with good wrestling ) Silva vs klose Winner Klose Craig. P vs Borralho Caio Winner Caio Martinez vs Aldo Winner Martinez (aldo is old) Smith vs Petrino Winner is Petrino 1 Like |

OneCandleAway: Martinez and Smith spoilt it oo Lol |
Re: Official MMA Thread (UFC/PFL) by OneCandleAway(f): 1:12pm On May 05 |
chiboyo: I didn't choose those fortunately. I didn't pick aldo too but immediately I saw hw won I put 💰 on pantoja. Sometimes a delay is good especially studying them during weigh ins the day before fights. I think it's best to wait till Fridays to have a final list. To see how confident and strong they look during weights process. Lewis vs. Nascimento will be better fights but I'm waiting till Tuesday/Thursday for my final picks. I might not put funds on main contenders ( Lewis vs. Nascimento )but pick some other opponents. But 1 Like |
Re: Official MMA Thread (UFC/PFL) by OneCandleAway(f): 1:14pm On May 05 |
chiboyo: Next time just pick 3 or 4 candidates, some Saturday, some Sunday, if they one on Saturday wins you can use the win for another candidate on Sunday. That's the smart way. |

OneCandleAway: You are right, would want to see your picks then |
Re: Official MMA Thread (UFC/PFL) by OneCandleAway(f): 7:21pm On May 05 |
chiboyo: At the moment my picks are: Veronica Hardy Jousett Kevin Charles Johnson Billy golf Tabasha ricci Terrence Mckinney Borshchev Sean woodson Carlos ulberg |
Re: Official MMA Thread (UFC/PFL) by OneCandleAway(f): 7:52am On May 10 |
Picks for UFC St louis Lewis vs. Nascimento Hardy Veronica ( she is more skilled and her husband is her coach so will prepare her well) this is a confident pick Ruziboev Nursulton (the favourite only issue is he is fighting below his normal weight class so if he looks fit after cutting more weight than usual should win . And he is the underdog so more money) Woodson Sean Despaigne Robelis I'm not picking anyone out of the main headliners because I'm not confident though people predict lewis has more knockout power. So except I have money I won't be mad if I lose, no pics for tge main contenders. Cc: Chiboyo |

OneCandleAway: Back finally... (lol) Your selection is very valid and I believe Ruziboev will take the day considering his style of fighting and his reach.. Matheus will also likely triumph in his fight. Lewis and nascimento will be a tough one, if it progress more than round 2, then nascimento will take the day |
Re: Official MMA Thread (UFC/PFL) by OneCandleAway(f): 12:35pm On May 11 |
chiboyo:Diego ferreira and matheuz Rebeski are both good fighters with knockout power but Rebeski is who most pick to win because he has geat leg kicks. Its a dicey one so just put as much as you won't feel pained if it doesn't go your way. Lewis if he is serious has good knockout power buy its a dicey situation so i would only decide later. A fighter pulled out due to health issues that's why I say it's best to wait till weigh ins to decide. I just try to choose some fights that fall early on Saturday with the featherweight and some on Sundays with the heavyweights. The wins from the early fights will decide my choice on the heavy weights. |
Re: Official MMA Thread (UFC/PFL) by OneCandleAway(f): 10:05am On May 12 |
Better luck next week I wasn't too happy with my selection. I was hoping for all wins. Some won on decision and people didn't agree but that's tge way it is. Guess the lesson on stick to a very limited number and aim high. I will try to do picks the following ; 1: Bellator Paris for Friday 2: ufc for saturday/Sunday 1 Like |

Re: Official MMA Thread (UFC/PFL) by OneCandleAway(f): 11:09am On May 12 |
chiboyo: I feel sometimes the fighters can be bought to influence a decision. Afterall they all keep complaining Dana doesn't renumerate then enough. Only very few think of legacy. 1 Like |

UFC Fight Night: Barboza vs. Murphy 18th May Early picks |
Re: Official MMA Thread (UFC/PFL) by sureleads: 6:39pm On May 12 |
OneCandleAway:This is just an excuse for your wrong fight picks. If you know anything about fighting , those results were not strange. the only main upset was Robelis, and it wasnt really surprising seeing that he was just fighting an elite heavyweight for the first time, who took advantage of his surprisingly very limited ground game. All the other fights made sense for those who know about fighting. |
Re: Official MMA Thread (UFC/PFL) by OneCandleAway(f): 7:59pm On May 12 |
sureleads: Perfection is not easy especially when the win decision is made by judges. And I try to give some info to aid decision making. I could easily just put up one person and say go high on them to get high returns. |
Re: Official MMA Thread (UFC/PFL) by OneCandleAway(f): 10:11am On May 15 |
Bellator championship Paris Friday 17 May 1. Patchy mix . He is fighting against a dagestani called magomed but, patchy has shown he has the antidote to the dagestani wrestling. He has beat magomed previously and this is a rematch and the odds favour Patchy due to his extensive experience. 2. Cedric doumbe. He is really good and strong and will be fighting at home Final decision: patchy mix 1 Like |
