Good evening Nairalanders,

Pls something brought me here and it has been bothering me a lot.
I couldn't further my education after secondary school due to financial setbacks, so I had to hustle to raise money for my education.
Now I am 26 years old and I have a car that I use for Uber. I recently gained admission to study accounting and I've also enrolled in ICAN AATSWA classes, but I'm contemplating if I should go back to school due to the fact that I will be 31 by the time I graduate, (it's a private university so no strike).
So automatically, no NYSC for me.
Let's say I am chartered by the time I graduate, will I be able to get graduate trainee jobs considering my age? Is it worth going through all that stress to get a degree and still be discriminated on at the end of the day? Also, what's the maximum entry age for Lagos state Civil service?

Pls I need genuine response from you guys, and I appreciate in advance.

Try to get a job at a small company, get your experience and aim for the big coys

They are more relaxed than the big coys....but if you have experience, you can apply, age doesn't count

If u are chartered by 31, try getting a job with an Audit firm(not d big 4 or top 6) that will be hard to get at that age. Find a medium size Audit firm focused on taxation and financial reporting and keep doing your side hustle because they don't pay well but u will learn a lot.
