Edo state is just one state and not a region. Edo can't become independent nation alone so why must all states link to the sea. We are talking about landlocked SE because of their demand for Biafra Republic.

I don't know if it's boredom or joblessness but the rate at which people create mountains out of mole hills is worrisome.

You'll just invent issues where there's none, to what end?
The average IQ of the black man is 85. No wonder your ilk can't create a successful society.

Bight of Benin belongs to the Benin Kingdom.

Watch the BBC documentary on the Benin Kingdom when the Europeans came to West Africa. The Benin Kingdom was the Super Power in West Africa.

Blame IBB(Babaginda), when he was creating new states, he wanted to please his Late Wife, who is Delta igbo.
The riverine tribes of isoko, ijaw and Urhonbo are seething that the Igbo speaking tribes were added to their state so they could chop oil money they were not entitled to.

Now, imagine if they had joined Edo to them? They might just have left it as Bendel state.

I have never understood why on earth Bendel was balkanised. That State was a true bastion of progress in everything from sports to the economy. If Nigeria were to break up, a return to Bendel would rapidly see that new nation progress exponentially.

If Nigeria breaks up, its likely that the Igbos of Bendel will leave with their kith and kin in the East

That still works. As long as everyone gets a choice and there is no land grabbing involved, why not.

Maybe you should also ask why Cross River State is in the south south but Abia and Imo are in the south east.
Such a confused map.

Ondo, cross river, bayelsa, delta have access to the Atlantic. Are they now developedhuh

This is access to the ocean and as you can see from the satellite map no structures are there.

that is ORON below and ORON is in Akwa Ibom State.
Akwa Ibom is in the west while cross River is on the north east of the shore. Cross River is one of Nigeria's coastal states..

Like someone already mentioned, posters of SE extract have been creating funny topics about access to the sea after news broke about cross River's deep sea port. and this topic is not an exception.

Cross River being a coastal state is not even up for argument.

Red line points to Akwa Ibom/ cross River border line. The pink points to Nigeria) Cameroun border line.

Edo has access to the sea via the Benin river, however, it would need permission as the south end of the river is in between Ondo and Delta state.

cross river is not a coastal state, stop arguing and debating on what you have no idea of.
The only LGA it had Bakassi was ceded to Cameroon.
It only has a river that links to the Atlantic
Even a goat knows that cross River is a coastal state. Continue arguing with your keypad.

First time I am hearing cross River is not a coast state. The things we read on Nairaland 😂

No wonder your user name is etroll.

cross river state does not have access to the ocean
eTroll:
learn to ask questions while checking your map.
Cross river doesn't have access to sea, the communities bordering the Atlantic were ceded to Akwa Ibom and Cameroon.
Presently Cross River State is landlocked with just a river emptying itself to the Atlantic
Geography must be hard for some.
