Achieving a good yield in maize farming begins with effective management. Here are crucial practices for your maize farm: SPACING The recommended spacing for maize is 75-90 cm between rows. Maintain 25 cm between plants when planting two seeds per hole, and 15 cm when planting one seed per hole. FERTILIZATION Fertilization is critical in maize farming. Apply NPK fertilizer at planting to promote faster growth. Follow up with urea 30 days after the initial fertilizer application. PEST MANAGEMENT Maize crops are vulnerable to pests like cutworms, bollworms, and armyworms, which can cause rapid damage. To protect your crops, spray pesticides containing cypermethrin or emamectin benzoate (such as Rocket, Porselen, or Cyper Force) every seven days.
