UK holds general election on July 4 by HonNL: 4:41pm On May 22
Rishi Sunak has vowed to "fight for every vote" as he called an early UK general election for Thursday 4 July.

The PM made the announcement in a rain-soaked speech outside 10 Downing Street, as he bids to win a fifth term in office for the Conservatives.

He was baited today by SNP Leader Stephen Flynn during Prime Ministers Questions, and within hours, he calls a general election.

Almost every white British I have spoken to here wants this government out. For me, I am going to vote for the Labour Party, not that I like the leader of the Labour but just going to do a protest vote against the Tories
