This is Abuja.

Why can't these state governors build their streets like this?

This is how a normal street looks in a sane environment.

Covered drains. Sidewalks.

It's not rocket science!
They have to go to Abuja to learn what just one on regional and urban planning graduate knows and is currently employed in such department or agencies under the state.

It is not that they don't know. Oga comot eye for there

If some states must build this type of street road, a lot of demolition must occur and most of the state governors are not all that wicked to demolish peoples houses with out paying compensation.

Some states governors are doing well in times of street road construction.

I left..!
That's where they have to be proactive in designing and implementing master plans.

All we need is a national STANDARD for how the roads should look. And a requirement that every state govt meets a certain percentage in terms of upgrades per annum.

If we do that, in the next 20 years, all our streets will look world class.

The 'abroad' that you people love so much, BE the abroad nau....?

Kigali, Rwanda

This is how you eliminate sand from the roads.

Roads are not supposed to have sand on them.

You eliminate sand by SEALING the road. You build the road, then it hits the pavement/sidewalk which hits the wall of the house.

Result?

NO SAND FOREVER ON THE ROAD.

You don't need to sweep. Ever.

ZERO SAND.

Why can't these CRETINS we call governors build our roads like this, the RIGHT way?

I LAUGH when I hear these clowns in govt talking about ''attracting tourists''.

UTTER CLOWNS.

Tourists LOVE to walk around.

They will NEVER visit Nigeria for tourism until you build your roads the right way.

Who is going to leave their comfortable nation to come here and be jumping gutter with you people?

With dusty roads, sand and mud?

Dreamers!

Keep dreaming! 🤣🤣

Channel your hate into something productive. Work hard, save, carry your bags and enter Benin republic or Togo, or if you can't manage the francophones, you can try Ghana. All your worries are solved. Good luck.

Or maybe come to realize that the larger proportion of your quality of life lies in your own locus of control.
Idiot
How much have you contribute to the development of the country?
I doubt if you pay your tax

If the roads are too narrow, we can still cover the drains and clear the sand.

Do you know that in Japan, only major roads have sidewalks?

Their inner roads have none, because they are too narrow. They were built centuries ago, before the invention of cars.

But see how they look:

Road sealed properly, so not a drop of sand on it, and drains covered.
Talk about Benin Republic not Abuja. motorable streets are paved with interlock tiles

You are the ignoramus that said CBD is ABUJA CITY? look at this confused cow.

Keep trying to be clever. Abeg do you live in Abuja? There is no such place as ABUJA CITY.

Besides, the topic says ABUJA and not Abuja City
Perhaps, he meant ABUJA CENTRAL. The farther you move away from the central, the less impress you get with the capital. And not all part of Kigali are like what he shown.

Besides, these African cities they throw in your faces when trying to badmouth NIGERIANS are so small compare to ours, yet they're not wholly developed with shanties and slums surrounding the cities centres. Only SA's, Egyptian's, Morrocan's and Tunisian's top cities can really be envied:they have big and largely developed ones. We have more development on ground than many of them others, save the aforementioned countries cities.

Perhaps, he meant ABUJA CENTRAL. .
You can't assume for a person grown enough to type all that and is supposed to take responsibility for every word.
So I stopped reading at that first sentence.

Sorry, but this is nonsense.

What magic are other cities across the world using then?

Even Kigali, Rwanda doesn't build roads without covered drains and sidewalks.

Stop making excuses for incompetent govt.

Kigali

point of corrections they don't have covered drainage what they actually use is underground drainage
Re: Our State Governors Must Learn How To Build Street Roads From Abuja by BlackAdam65: 7:38pm On May 30, 2024
The reason why most Nigerian streets don't look like this is because of lack of city/urban planning most of our cities are not planned for that is why they look like slums and that is why someone can build a residential building in a place that is suppose to be a business district it make our cities and towns look unorganized if we want our cities to look like this there must be a city replanning which will always involve demolition of buildings, existing infrastructures and relocation of citizens or the state governor can just create a new city with a perfect master plan
