Svoboda:Clout but still have to report to the present governor. They are just wasting their time at the end of the day. They should wait for an opposition govt to take power and re install them in the future. |

naptu2:The current Deputy-Governor of Kano State's comments were ABSOLUTELY reckless and he led a lot of people to start insulting Nuhu Ribadu. Reading the highly unfounded allegations against the NSA in this Vanguard article shows that Nuhu Ribadu was justified to ask for an apology in major media outlets or sue him for defamation in court. I heard earlier today as well that the so-called Deputy-Governor of Kano State had apologized in the media for criminally defaming Nuhu Ribadu. So, this thread confirms it's VERACITY. The Deputy-Governor dude said he was MISLED into believing that Ribadu was behind the deployment of security men to protect Bayero. The dude himself misled a lot of people online and offline with his false accusations and this is the reason why I do NOT like commenting on UNVERIFIED public rumors because over 90 percent of them turn out to be false rumors and NOT true rumors! The Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu too should have asked for an open apology from Atiku Abubakar for falsely accusing him of fueling the Emirate leadership quagmire in Kano State, but in his usual unwise and laid back manner in the last 10 years when it comes to dealing with his public image in terms of punishing criminally defamatory online and offline comments against him, he hasn't done so. Some highly ignorant people online and offline believed Atiku's false accusations despite the FACT that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi spoke recently on Channel TV commending Bola Tinubu for his non-interference in the 5 Kano Emirates dissolution tussle. |

Jorussia:You have said it all. I swear soon fight will start between tthe governor and Sanusi. It's so sad how those mentally myopic mofos called obidients who carries this matter on their heads can not see what you have just said or seen. I congratulate Sanusi but this matter not yet finish if NNPP lost the governorship by 2027 which is likely going to be the case Sanusi might be remove again. The media inecessary attention you mentioned are all handwork of those losers called ipobidients. Wallahi what the hell is unecessary media bruhaha for, over a throne? Very Unecssary!!! |

Afterall its a family affairs and doesnt benefit any outsider. I can remenber then in my community between Francis Ogbonna and Young Ogbonna. It was just a family affairs. |

Konquest:what you think is unwise is a mark of a true democrat, the man has shown he's more tolerant than all the people who cast aspersions on him. The only person I know who was taught a lesson on defamation by him was the late Raymond Dokpesi. In all he's a graceful person who has taken so much shit most politicians can never even take a pinch. |

Konquest:According to your own level of reasoning, he would have been a wise man if he had been barking like dog for every stone thrown at him? An attitude you called 'unwise' is what has taken him to where he is today. Since the last 10 years as you said, where are those that did everything to defame him and where is he today? If you want to achieve your goal in life, be 100% focused and completely deaf to detractors |

DesignMaestro:I understand what you are driving at here, BUT I disagree to a significant degree with the last point of yours (because we are in the Internet age slash social media age and YOU cannot be completely DEAF to all your detractors, some who have even been calling for a change of government through a military coup! Get this VERY clear so that you do not misquote me (or put words into my mouth). NEVER did I imply in my original post that you quoted here that "he should bark like a dog for every stone thrown at him." It's a globally known fact that in professional Public Relations, YOU do NOT allow any criminal defamation or any negative news about your company or self to fester for too long. The public will end up thinking that the FALSE rumors are true. Perception is NOT reality... indeed PERCEPTION is STRONGER than reality! If Nuhu Ribadu as the NSA didn't see how highly dangerous and incendiary the false allegations made by the Kano guy were, he wouldn't have threatened to sue the Deputy-Governor of Kano and asked for a public apology which he promptly got within 24 hours. Reno also posted a message few months ago about how the relentless negative information being deliberately spread online and offline by a section of the opposition to tarnish the government were damaging to Tinubu's government. Recently too, I saw a video where Tinubu said he doesn't watch or follow Social Media anymore because of the insults he received during the election cycle and I was stunned and a little embarrassed because as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, such comments shouldn't emanate from him. Anybody that is responsible for deliberately pushing out fake videos and falsehoods about him with the intent to damage his reputation and mislead the public should be tracked and punished after appearing in any court of law. Period. I don't like when people who are relentlessly criminally defamed in the public space put up a "politically correct" image and leave everything to God or whatever! There are laws worldwide that deal with online and offline defamation and that should be tested. Professional PR specialists will tell you how NOT addressing specific such as false rumors (such as those who daily call him a druggie or drug baron on NL and other online platforms) on time lead to the festering of the falsehoods and they become very difficult to correct. Till date, as an older man who witnessed the years of military dictatorships back in Nigeria, I appreciate the role he (Tinubu) played back in the military dictatorship years especially in the early 1990s as a pro-democracy activist alongside other folks (Uni students, Wole Soyinka, lawyers, great journalists like Bayo Onanuga, Kunle Ajibade, Odion Akhaine, former Governor Kayode Fayemi, who was in charge of "Radio Kudirat" which was originally broadcasting live from the headquarters of the BBC at Bush House in London, etc). Being politically correct in the Internet age where criminal defamation, fake videos and fake news go viral isn't the best strategy. This is the reason why Professor Wole Soyinka emphasized strongly at a publicized BBC conference that took place in Lagos a few years back that "fake news" could trigger a 3rd World War. The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) too had been a victim of fake news via cloned Websites that looked exactly like that of BBC. It wasn't until 21 days later that BBC got to know about the cloned BBC Websites that were being used to spread fake news worldwide. There's a Global Disinformation Team at BBC today because they realize how highly destructive criminal defamation and FAKE news can be to businesses and for global security. Cc: Goke7 I've included my response to you here as well to save time. Cheers. |

Goke7:@Goke7, I'm fully aware of the 2014/2015 multibillion Naira court case against DAAR Communications and Raymond Dokpesi over the criminal defamation of character of Bola Tinubu which was later settled out of court after the judge found DAAR guilty of spreading falsehoods in the serial documentaries on AIT and ordered the management of DAAR Communications to apologize to Bola Tinubu for defaming him, and this is why I benchmarked in my original post, the timeframe to "within the last 10 years" of relentless online and offline defamation. I agree that in some instances, it's noble and good to be tolerant, BUT in the information age or Internet age, when there's relentless criminal defamation and spread of outright falsehoods spread really fast online and offline, you have to act FAST to counter misleading information, otherwise the general public would assume that those falsehoods that have been left to fester without being addressed are TRUE. A Professional PR maxim indicates that: Perception is NOT reality, PERCEPTION is Stronger than REALITY." |

Konquest:@bolded, That video was first circulated in 2022. He made the comment at APC campaign office in Abuja long before the beginning of campaign for the 2023 election. I agree with your view on image protection but there are cases when you need to concentrate your energy on what you are pursuing rather than exchanging words with those cooking stories without evidence just to bring you down. Didn't those that went as far as America to look for evidence against him end up inadvertently helping to correct the notion that he did not go to university? The most important thing is the fact that his choice of not investing much of his resources on image protection but on building a powerful network of loyalists has evidently paid off. He was mocked when he declared his intention to contest for presidency because they believed he had nothing left of him in terms of reputation due to much dent they thought they have done to his personality. That is the sole reason his adversaries underestimated him until when he shocked them with victory at the APC primaries. That was when they started taking him serious and intensified their war of defamation on social media. You can't say such a man is unwise. What is left for him to achieve again at his age? If he could reach where he is right now despite all that was done to his personality, nothing anyone could say now that will bother him anymore. What you are suggesting he should be doing as the C in C is actually what those sponsoring his defamation on social media want him to do. Allegations of human rights abuses and public outcry over arrests here and there will be on the news desks of western media. That would damage the goodwill enjoyed by the government from international community. Remember the landmark guy and his stunt with foreign media? If he's eventually able to turn things around and the current suffering of the masses is alleviated, no one will listen to nonsense lies about his personality. Perhaps, the government is not doing so bad in terms of public engagement. |
