They cling to hope that a better outcome is **magically** possible even as they remain paralyzed by a general lack of will/desire to overcome the many obstacles before them due to fear of the unknown.

People who are not ruled and hence not paralyzed by their fears rarely ever mention the word destiny. Rather they speak of their rights, abilities, capabilities, and desires.

Surely, this was not their initial destiny but they hearkened and travelled with the bus that goes to that destination like a person going to Osogbo yet he follows his friend to enter Agofure Motors., verily, verily, i say his destiny has changed.
