Wetin concern food with National Anthem? Un just want make govt fail by all means.

Which kind evil be dis.

ClearFlair:
Yes, it is perfectly rational to choose a colonial anthem over a perfect one composed by a citizen in the midst of an economic crisis. APC certainly attracts some types of people. Oya be singing it up and down the streets.

Also, don't forget to teach it to people who can't afford three square meals and tell them to sing it whenever they're hungry to summon food from thin air. Iranu

Did you read the post and historic newspaper...

Open your mind and just read the lyrics, it's more inspiring than the lyrics of Arise O compatriots...

At an event today, myself and some colleagues decided to sing the new national anthem Nigeria we hail thee, although I got lost mid way but I was proud...
Ok. This new anthem will also solve the severe hardships and security issues currently facing Nigerians lol

My mum loved this anthem up till date. No elderly person who was born before the 70s will choose the new anthem over the Independence anthem..

You can go and ask your father's and mothers.

It's not dope.
It's trash
It's a colonial song
Emancipate yourself from colonial enslavement
I'm not enslaved, the only ones who are enslaved mentally are the ones who still believe it was a mistake to bring us together.

After over 100 years of amalgamation, you mean we still can't solve the mistake of the British... It is a shame on us as a nation..

The national anthem, the flag, our pledge, our currency is our identity and I would call a DIRTBAG anyone that calls it old or new anthem trash...

YOU SIR ARE A DIRTBAG.

If the mistake of the British is amalgamation, that means the solution is de-amalgamation. Are you advocating for the break up of Nigeria?

And can you point out where I said it was a mistake to bring Nigeria forcefully.
You sir are a knucklehead if you can't point this.

stop saying nonsense, it was not a colonial anthem. Nigeria called for entries from people around the world for a new national anthem. Out of the total 45 entries. Lilian version was chosen.

She was an ordinary social worker employed by the Nigerian government. Ordinary person, the judges are Nigerians and they only selected her version due to merit.
Pal dey try let u sabi say hardship dey and no ever think say d anthem go trend. After all no b person wey chop go get strength sing. Dead on arrival

A little bit of question.

Who made up the executive arm of the government as at march 1959?

I'm not attacking tinubus actions and what he chooses to make priority. I'm not concerned about the anthem. I don't give a sh!t about both versions. And won't be singing any.

I just want to be sure if Nigerians made up the executive arm of the government as at that date.

Stanza 1, line 3 should be reviewed. The word 'tribes' should be replaced. We are peoples, ethnicities, or people groups.

The old anthem is powerful. "Nigeria, we hail thee!"

My mom loved it. She hardly sang the new one.

Although, I think it is insensitive to ignore far more pressing issues to focus on reverting to the old anthem.

My brother, I see the anger in your writeup. I know you are angry, I feel the frustration Nigeria has brought on us. I feel the heartache when Nigeria comes up...

My prayer is that God would help you build great things in life and handover something great to your children and children's children.

You will not be replaced, God will help you to get it right my brother...

If you said amen or liked this my prayer for you, then it is not stupidity to pray that the God of all creation should grant this our one request, to help us, direct us, to build a nation where no man is oppressed...
grin grin grin This sounds hopeless, absolutely ridiculous, total crap!

God this, God that, what are the politicians job? Tifnubu and his corrupt government has ruined the country and this one is calling God up and down.

Mr man, there are tonnes of pressing issues. This government should quit playing to the gallery and face work
People are dying everyday. A report came out that under Tinubu s government, over 4,000 persons have died. this begs the question, are we in a war?! Yet all you guys can think of is a national anthem? Go and tell that to the vulcanizer in your street and come here to share his response.
I would rather live in a prosperous country with a crappy anthem than to live in crappy country with a beautiful anthem!
Get your priorities right!

It is natural....hey waved flags to it in 1960, sang same during assembly, schools, etc.

The exact same way some of us got glued to the new one..... It will take ages to get off it but I know from my history of Nigeria, a Govt will come in and revert to Arise O Compatriots.....
the sad truth that some old folst don't want to accept, in time to come this anthem will be change because some of us enjoyed singing arise o compatriats.

I think it is a sign of great changes...
Some people especially the older generation believed the Arise O Compatriots anthem (old) brought a curse on Nigeria...

One thing we can't take away from Tinubu is his boldness... Call him stupid, slowpoke, etc.

I would rather follow the bold than those trying to please the crowds...

It tells me there is something He is seeing, there is something he wants to get at and he wants Nigeria and Nigerians to see...

Our banner shall be a symbol that peace and justice reign... To hand to our children a banner without stain. (powerful Anthem)
which boldness ? What has he gotten right since assume power? Why must we go back to the old ways? Oh I guess APC is the same as backwardness .

You are right.

Also, there is one thing I noted about Tinubu, he is a thinker and a doer. That man is so powerful that he can do anything and no one will raise a feather.

He should not waste his power, he should effect restructuring once and for all. All those lies we always hear that it depend on the National Assemble bla bla bla are just nonsensical statement. Tinubu can get most things done by lobbying them, he should make sure he see to fruition all the items in the restructuring. anything wey wan happen make e happen.

ACN bloc campaigned all their life about restructuring, it will be the greatest disservice if Tinubu won't complete that restructuring with all the power it seems he wields. 3 more years to go, we wait!
In as much as I am always against most of submission, on this I agree with you making it the first time I am liking your post. You spoke the minds of every trùe progressive Nigerians.

Whenever you see the APC sychophants posts and it seems everyone on page one is supporting APC, look at the time the post was made. It's usually at odd hours. When most people are asleep. That time they will be free to populate the comments section, at least the page one unchallenged.
