who told you they are going to be paying you, the loan goes to the school direct and it's for serious students only, CGPA must be top notch or good average standing every semester for you to continue to receive the loan.
They are not going to be that stupid paying into students account directly, 70% of the GenZee will do drugs , bet and club with prostitute with it.

And no one will be going to prison for it, it's to be paid when you are in paid employment or when you are financially capable to be responsible citizen and paid back for others to benefit in the future.

I guess the intention is good -but how many graduates get paid employment --less that 10% in this current climate.

I still don't think it is a good idea -the government should fix the fundamental issues we are facing in this country -which are poor electric supply and a poor enabling environment to do business.

If you are a student, please take the loan in full, why, at the rate we are going, to pay back the loan after graduating will be like buying a loaf of bread due to inflation.
Eg 2015 a guy sued a company for 40m. That 40m could buy 10 brand new tear rubber Toyota corolas at 4m each. 2024 he won the case, but his 40m cannot buy 1 brand new corola that now cost 67m.

Nope....yo kinda wrong.... CGPA is not among the requirements.
And only school fees is paid into school account... upkeep which is 240k will be paid to the personal account you submitted during registration

As good as this policy is,I am still sacred ,some students will collect their school fees from their uncle or parents then use it to play sure odd,when they thing cast they collect loan

And 6000 out of the number of students in Nigeria is a paltry figure.

The population of students in OAU alone when I graduated was over 20,000.

One good thing from this is that state universities student can start applying too within 3 weeks.

I beg to differ on this....let the states fund their students education by providing loans and scholarships......you don't just build schools for building sakes without any idea how to fund them......we know the region with the highest population who don't prioritise education.....you would then see a high population of unqualified students accessing the fund due to their huge population to the detriment of those who actually need it from other regions......let's states fund their institutions.

More than 90% of American students in universities over there are on loans to be paid overtime and the system ensures that.....I don't know what it is you are yapping on all about.....it's almost free in Saudi Arabia

The reason that the number of applicants is that low is because the portal is not working properly.

If duly preserved, this is a great legacy this tenure would be forever remembered by.

Masters and PhD students should be given top priority in this education loan, if Nigeria is serious with development.
